My husband and I just ate here tonight after a friend suggested it to us. While the food was good, I wish I could the same about service. We walked in and said hi to the gentleman behind the host stand, who said hi back, but after awkwardly standing there for literally a minute, we were confused who was going to seat us. He then finally told us to pick a table and someone would be over to take our order. We waited a while again just to receive menus, and again waited a while before even having our order taken. There were only a few tables there too, so it wasn’t that busy. Also, don’t expect friendly, or great customer service here, or even a smile from the waitress. After finally getting to place our order and waiting 20 minutes, we were told the Dosa we ordered couldn’t be made because it kept sticking to the pan (WTF how do you not know how to make something that’s on your menu?!), so I told him that was fine, we’ll just cancel it. Fast forward, 45 minutes after walking in to the place, we didn’t receive our food. And after seeing the 4 tables who came after us get their food, and having received none of ours, we finally asked what was going on. Apparently they had never even received our order, or started it. He promised we were on “priority” even though I saw the waitress bring out food to 2 other tables after he had promised this. The waitress finally brought out our food, set the food on our table very rudely, and didn’t say a single word to us or apologize to us for the wait. When we finally went up to pay, they offered me a measly $3 discount on our dinner to make up for our food taking 55 minutes to come out to us. I understand mistakes happen, but if you’re going to be unkind, and rude when it was a mistake on your end, you do not deserve my business. I definitely will not be coming back here. After being annoyed at how we were treated here, my husband I went across the street to India Bazaar because I had been eyeing some of their pastries. Boy what a difference in service! The staff here was much more friendly and welcoming. They even suggested we get samples of some of their entrees for next time we visit. I’ll definitely be choosing India Bazaar over this place in the future, where my business is actually...
Read moreI ordered online at 4:35, received a confirmation and received anither message that my order was being prepared. I followed Google Maps directions and arrived at an Indian grocery store (Annapurna I believe). There was no sign for Kadai Kitchen and no indication on the website. The site did say the restaurant was closed 3pm - 5pm, but my online order went through to be ready at 5pm. I arrived and went to the restaurant counter (don't go for the ambiance because there is none). The gentleman looked at my order confirmation and said 5 minutes do I ordered a Masala tea and sat down to wait. I then received another message that my order was ready. A woman came up and told me the kitchen had been on break from 3 to 5 so it would be 20 more minutes. I went to my car and came back 20 minutes later and was told 5 more minutes. The counter staff also had to wait on grocery customers. After an additional 20 minutes I was told my order was ready. I checked with the woman on what was in my order and was told that they did not have Tandoori chicken so they gave me Lollipop chicken. I told I didn't like that (if I wanted wings and drummies I would have gone sonewhere else) she said it wasn't spicy (it was more spicy than I wanted). It was also $2 less than the Tandoori, but received no refund. I would have subbed chicken Tikka had they asked me. If you go I recommend not ordering online, go in and order in person. Masala tea - meh, I've had better Batura - good, but I should have ordered it with chickpea curry Lollipop chicken - okay, but not what I wanted Vegetable samosa - good Gulab Jamoon - okay, Tandoor has better (their cardamom syrup is very good, Kadai's didn't have much flavor other than sweet). I do not think I'll go back. I'll go to Gorkha Palace, Curry Corner, Tandoor or a new...
Read moreCustomers Beware!!! I would have given a 5 star review. 1.5 years back however I have been coming here for years. I had enjoyed many good meals here in the past. Over the last 6-8 months this place has just gone downhill. The service is absolutely terrible nowadays. I understand English is not your first language so I will cut you some slack there. My friend and I have been regulars for a while and now we don’t feel welcome anymore. We are both in wheelchairs and ask for tables that would be easier to use for us and try to cause less disruptions for other customers. The staff don’t always work with us on that. While the food is ok they have changed the recipe for the chili chicken which used to consist of fresh jalapeños and that was excellent. It is sweet now and isn’t as flavorful. We have asked to make it spicy every time or just add some jalapeño to it for us which they refuse and it’s just not the same. They also are never happy to serve us now. I have been reading these reviews of closing the kitchen early which brings me to my next point. Do you even open on time? I visited yesterday 8/26/19 for the lunch buffet about 12:15 PM. The doors are locked and so I call them to see what the deal is and no answer. After 10 minutes I called their Kadai Foods Grocery Location to ask for assistance and he said I’ll check and call back. It’s the next day and I have not received any calls. I’m extremely disappointed as this was my favorite place for many years. I don’t know if I will ever come back. My friend who comes with me every time is definitely not coming back after this service. Way to go Kadai Team you lost one of your regular customers! I have ]catered parties from you guys and have given you way more business than I ever should have in the...
