Travellers, the sand castle lounge is a wonderful restaurant in Plymouth that features Jamaican cuisine along with some New England standards. What is so impressive it that so much of the food is homemade and it tastes like it is. The classic New England fare, like the clam chowder, can hold itself up next to any clam chowder in New England. But it is the Jamaican food that is so delicious. The oxtail in brown gravy or the chicken in brown gravy are amazing. And the rice and beans and Mac and cheese are a great choice for this lovely stew. The servings are generous too. There was a dj playing Jamaican music ad some nights there is live music. There is a fun atmosphere here and you can’t help but sway to the music. Service is with a smile. Check it out. We recommend.
TLDR - excellent food,...

The moment I walked in I was complimented before being greeted, only to later be aggressively told to get something on the menu that went against my dietary restrictions even though there was “only a little bit” of what I was allergic to in the dish. The dish was small but for a hefty price and I felt like the woman was trying to manipulate me and my friend into buying it when I only went in for a quick snack. She would not stop talking and trying to convince me and then my friend that I HAD to get the dish, with some force. I genuinely felt so uncomfortable I could not wait to leave. Do not spend your...
Read moreLiterally some of the best food I've ever eaten in my life. The jerk chicken was flavorful and juicy and tender. The meat literally fell off the bone. The mac and cheese and rice of the day side were perfect compliments to the flavor of the chicken. The plating of is was absolutely perfect and you can tell this is someone who cares about what they are doing. The waitresses were friendly and very attentive, and the bartender is a literal master of her craft, and very personable and friendly. All in all I was very impressed with this place. A real hidden gem of Plymouth and will probally be the difference maker for me in the future next time I go to book a...
