Francesco's Italian restaurant & pizzeria — Restaurant in Pohatcong Township

Francesco’s recently catered a memorial service luncheon for my family and they did a fantastic job. The food and service were of the highest caliber, and the owner was a pleasure to work with. From the very start, planning the menu with the owner was easy. He provided recommendations but also listened to what we wanted. He was willing to accommodate our every request.

On the day of, when the first people started to arrive, everything was ready to go. The food was hot, tables were organized and set, and the Italian decor was warm and welcoming. We were expecting 20-25 guests at most, however closer to 40 people came to the lunch. At our request, Francesco’s provided two additional trays of food within 10-15 minutes. It was just great service.

The servers were very professional start to finish. I didn’t really notice them, but whenever I needed someone they just seemed to be right there. And I don’t want to skip over the food… it was delicious! My favorite was the lemon chicken but the bruschetta appetizer was probably the most impressive. The appetizers and salads had very generous portion sizes and once everyone was finished eating, the servers provided desert and coffee.

It really meant a lot to my family that everything went so well. We were grieving the unexpected loss of a family member, and the love and positivity that transpired during the memorial service was only made stronger during the lunch. The best Italian restaurant and pizza place. Visited 2 times this week. Both visits were perfect! 5 stars for sure! First visit we were craving a slice at 9:30 at night. We lived outside NJ for the last 15 years and always grab a slice when back visiting. I was so happy we found this place. Late at night we had numerous options of pizza by the slice. The price were very reasonable. It was fast and the person behind the counter was very nice. The restaurant looked clean and neat. There was plenty of options for large parties, families and tables for two. Behind the counter looked very clean too. Our second visit we ordered a pizza with onions, mushrooms, and sausage. It was delicious!!! I ordered over the phone and was asked how well done I wanted it. That was a great question and I was impressed they wanted to make sure our pizza was done the way we liked it. OMG…a terrible experience with the manager/owner. Not worthy of the 1 star. I have NEVER been treated so badly. He truly does not care about his business. I asked to speak with him regarding the prices on the menu not matching the bill. I wasn’t able to get a sentence out before he dismissed me. He told me to “pay what I want and not come back” and walked away. Totally rude and dismissive. The poor staff….each and everyone apologize to us on the way out. This guy was way too comfortable being out of line. I will NEVER go back. I will be sharing with everyone that I know how terrible we were treated by this person who identified himself in a previous visit as the owner. I find it hard to believe that an owner would be so inappropriate and ungrateful. Still in disbelief at how...
