I’ve been to East Shore Smokehouse a handful of times now, and it’s one of those places that just feels right. There’s something about the mix of that cozy, cabin-like atmosphere and the smell of good food that pulls you in. The prime rib is probably my favorite—so tender and flavorful, it just melts in your mouth. But honestly, everything I’ve tried has been great. It’s the kind of place where you feel comfortable bringing family or friends, knowing everyone will find something they love. One of the highlights for me is their selection of La Chouffe beer. It’s not something you find everywhere around here, and it pairs perfectly with their hearty dishes. The staff is always friendly and makes you feel welcome, like they’re genuinely happy you’re there. It’s not just a meal; it’s an experience that reminds me why I love living in Polson. If you’re in the area and haven’t been yet, it’s definitely worth a visit.

This was an excellent choice for a Fourth of July dinner with my friends. Immediately we noticed the attention to detail, cute decorations, and large amount of outdoor seating. The food was incredible and our server was quirky and funny, and the bartender who sat us in her Fourth of July outfit was kind and had a smile to accommodate us even though we had 8 people and some kids. The Prime Rib and the brisket were absolutely delicious, but I also really enjoyed the BBQ nachos and deviled eggs as well. The taste was smoky and delicious, and it really gave the feel of going to someone's house and having a delicious home-cooked meal. This place is a treasure I'd highly recommend for your next trip to Flathead Lake. I'll be back for sure!

This restaurant is a “hidden” gem located on the East side of Flathead Lake (as the name implies). It’s a bit out of the way, but you should definitely make the trek, whether you live in Polson, Big Fork or Kalispell- it will be worth it! First, it is very clear that the owners take pride in this place. It was super clean and tidy. The warm, cabin decor and wood-burning fireplace made it feel so cozy and special. Our server, Shannon, was kind and knowledgeable and just the right amount of talkative. The food was fresh and hot and very tasty. Beer was cold. Prices may be a tiny bit high, but the portions are impressive. We had a great time and will most definitely be back soon!

Went to the Smokehouse, as my daughter found it on line, for our Wedding Party Supper. We were from out of State and my Daughter planned a wedding and chose this place for the Supper. There was 9 people, we got seated as they were waiting for us and our drinks came out quickly. We ordered the food that we all chose but when the food came out half the people didn't get what they ordered or food was put in front of them that wasn't theirs. One of our guests ordered a meal and got a total other meal than she ordered. 4 of the others ordered meals and they didn't get what they ordered, 2 ordered Beef meals and 2 ordered Buffalo meals. Come to find out that the were given the wrong meats to the them, so the ones eating buffalo didn't order it and when they figured it out they stopped eating it. I, mother of the Bride and Father of the Bride, was paying the bill for the party so no one was going to complain about the food. I didn't want to cause an issue so i quietly removed myself from the party and went to talk to the waitress who in turn became very snooty and snotty with a smurk on her face. I requested that the Buffalo meals be taken off the bill and I walked away. When she gave me my ticket she said they took the Beef meals off the bill so I again walked quietly up to her and asked why she didn't request the Buffalo meals to be taken off since you are feeding people meat they don't know they are eating. She again got Smurky and snoot with me so I requested to talk to the Manager, mind you they had already added a 18% gratuity almost $50.00 tip. So once the manager came out I realized why the staff was the way they were. He was a short Italian man who spoke broken English (which doesn't matter until he said this) as I explained the situation to him and why I asked to see him was due to the rude behavior of the waitress. He told me that they took the beef meals off and I should be happy with that as they had eaten the Buffalo meals as well. I told him that they stopped as they didn't know what meat they were eating until it was realized and questioned how a restaurant could feed people meat that they are not aware of. He didn't care he told over again that they ate it. I said I'm not paying 18% gratuity to be treated like I was and for the service of not even getting proper meals. He then told me this was a "Law", I said in Montana. He said No in the USA, I said what???? I've never heard of a Nation Wide Law that we Americans are required to pay a TIP on demand. I educated him, as I also worked in the food industry for many years, that TIPS stand for To Insure Proper Service and if you don't get it then you haven't fulfilled that duty. Now I wouldn't have had a problem if they would have taken the Buffalo off the check and the waitress wasn't so RUDE and Smurky. I paid my bill and told the little Italian that I was not happy with this experience here and also the meals were not worth the price, my steak was $27.00 and came out gray with 4 grilled lines on it...I'd grill better at home a great steak. I also told him that my Wedding Party was unaware of this issue as I was paying the bill and I didn't want them to be upset with the way I was being treated...So what does this man do, the Manager, runs out to our Limo and starts to question all the guests. I told him enough and this is very unprofessional, luckily the bride and groom were in the car with most of the wedding party. I told him I'd never come back there again. Honestly, it was no good experience and the food is over priced and you don't get what you order nor do they cook the meat the way you want. This was the worst experience and treatment I'd ever had in any restaurant. VERY...

It’s sad that our favorite dining spot on the lake has gone so far down hill. We have come here for several years. The Huckleberry Lemonade used to be delicious. Last night we sat in the bar area for dinner. The tender was skimpy and precise with the liquor, and our drinks were served with a wimpy slice of lemon and one skinny cocktail straw. I don’t know about you but it’s difficult to enjoy a drink through two of those skinny straws much less one. My husband did however order a second one after they came and asked him if he’d like more water, he said no I’m fine, so the server took what was remaining in his water glass and left him with none. We observed as they dispensed beers from tap and instead of tipping the glass and letting the head run out they scooped the head out with a spoon as to not spill a drop , and still, served them up with a hefty head. I realize those are all little things but what I gleaned was they’re more concerned about saving $.05 than making patrons feel wanted and welcome. And creating a comfortable, fun, welcoming atmosphere where you feel like sitting back, soaking up the atmosphere and spending some money. We asked if there was any baseball on since the tv was set on some old sitcom and the employee put it on a game from 1992. I would have preferred a live game but, oh well. I guess you “don’t always get what you want”. Next we both ordered an expensive steak dinner. I ordered a house salad. It was skimpy with only lettuce and onions. Not one tomato or anything else. And it was served with cinnamon special k cereal sprinkled on the top. (For an extra crunch I was told when I asked what it was, I scraped it off). My husband had to leave a good 1/3 to 1/2 of his steak due to gristle and fat (of a filet cut that should be free of both). When we brought it to their attention the waiter said “when I asked how it was you said it was good”, yes the first 1/4 of it was, then we didn’t see her again for a bit, until after he’d” tried to “ cut through” the rest of the steak unsuccessfully and left it on the plate. We decided it wouldn’t even be good for our dog. Too much fat . The flavor however was very good and my steak was great. When they brought the bill after a person came and got our plates and we explained about the steak, he said “I’ll let the cook know “. I thought okay, maybe they’ll make this right… They brought the check and there was no compensation made for the bad steak at all… so someone else came to take our card and I again brought it to that persons attention. it took about another 15 or so minutes waiting for them to take 1/2 the cost of his meal off. (Again not very generous) It was just disappointing. The property looks run down and uninviting. The outside was uncared for and messy. There were No deck lights on and most of the chairs were turned upside down. We’ve been there when the place was booming and even in the rain people were sitting outside. Hopefully they can turn...

We had a horrible experience. Started with not having ribs because the cook burned them. I can live with that orders something else. My dad order a prime rib sandwich. 5 minutes after ordering the waitress came back to tell us they were out of that. My dad wanted a prime rib sandwich yet was told order something else. Because of dental concerns there's only so much he can eat. Come to find out the waitress told us they were still serving prime rib. They also were serving rolls. I asked the waitress if they could just cut a piece of prime rib and put it between two pieces of the role and serve it is a sandwich. I was told no flat out no we can't do it even though they're serving prime rib they wanted him to order a full meal when all he wanted was a sandwich. She is now laying the blame on the new owner who refuses to let them alter any of the menu items for customers. My dad refused to order anything off the menu. My wife and I just ordered and we're waiting for a dinner. I went to the bar to try and ask the waitress if there's any way they can make it a change and for her to provide good customer service for someone who's gone to that restaurant for many years. She would not budge she said they were too busy to do anything. There is only 8 tables in the restaurant at that time. Requesting to speak to the owner, he was not there. About 10 minutes later the owner did come back and I expressed my concern and lack of support or help from his wait staff. The new owner would not budge even though again they were serving prime rib and they have rolls. He started to lay the blame on lack of good service or finding good help. Which means now he is bad-mouthing his staff. He is also making excuses that he's only two weeks into his ownership. Instead of saying you know what we're really sorry for the inconvenience let me see what we can do all we got was a line of bull s* from the new owner and the staff at The Smokehouse. I highly recommend to please stay away from this restaurant as they are rude and not willing to work with customers. I do appreciate that he comped our cocktails that was nice. But in the end the service is what brings customers back not excuses and laying blame either with management or with the wait staff. DO NOT WASTE...
