My sister always stops at Bakers Dozen in Pomfret on her way here from New Jersey. I was with her on her 2nd trip to the bakery on Saturday to pick up some coffee. She pulled into the drive thru and asked for a large Mocha Iced latte and 2 hot mocha latte's. The girl who took the order seemed almost angry about it as she mumbled for us to move up to the window. She handed my sister the iced latte minus the mocha and 2 room temperature latte's also minus the mocha. When my sister asked if there was mocha, she very rudely stated my sister never asked for it while ordering and roughly grabbed the iced latte and added it in, also being angry about having to add it into the hot latte's, which she handed back all dripping in coffee. She basically threw napkins at her and promptly shut the window. We determined that the "hot" latte's were room temperature and we went in to ask for a manager. The supervisor was there to hear our complaints and she did remake the hot latte's and apologized. But here is my concern: How rude of the original girl to tell my sister what she had ordered when clearly I was sitting right on the side of her and heard every word.....to tell a customer that they essentially lied when ordering is NOT professional and her attitude was so rude about everything, right from the start. She really shouldn't be working with people if she can't be nice and respectful. Maybe she should find a position where she works alone in a cubicle somewhere. I was infuriated that my sister was treated that way and she is a loyal customer every time she comes up. Horrifying service. I personally will not be returning to this establishment and I will be glad to share this experience with anyone who asks. I come to this location sometimes. The Plainfield location is far superior. I was second in line at the counter for about a solid five minutes and neither girl working even bothered to look at me or acknowledge me in anyway. I would have been happy to wait if either girl had said anything to me, I don't go inside for fast service. Anyway, I was again completely ignored by one of the girls after she handed the first customer in line his pastry and said "have a good day" after insulting him and insinuating a diabetic condition because of his sweetener choices.
She handed him his pastry and walked by me without even making any eye contact. I was disgusted by the attitudes of the staff and I left.
If you act like you're better than your job but you won't do your job then you aren't any good at all. I just wanted a large black hot coffee, I guess that would have been too much to ask for at a local...
