Cowboy Cactus — Restaurant in Poquoson

Hubby and I were craving steak so we went to check this place out. We arrived around 6:00 and the place was empty of patrons. Only a manager and bartender were there. The dining/bar/bathrooms were very clean. They had ribeye on special for $22. This comes with your choice of 2 sides. Our food was very good. The steaks were cooked exactly as we asked and were seasoned perfectly. The folks working there were welcoming, professional but fun and really seemed to want to be there. We found out there was a new owner that is serious about making this restaurant a success. This night they had a band scheduled. Since we ate dinner there, we didn’t have to pay the $5 cover fee so we stayed for the first set. People started rolling in around 7:30 or so. The band was surprisingly good considering the advanced age of most of them. My husband and I were surprised more people didn’t come earlier for the food since it was reasonably priced and so good. New owner is bringing this place back. Lots of events like bands, open mic night, gaming machines, and pool. Food is on point, wings are great, they do an all you can eat crab leg night, and the steak is perfect. Strongly recommend this...
