Pho Tau Bay — Restaurant in Port Arthur

Last Friday, my boyfriend and I visited Pho Tau Bay in Port Arthur, and wow—this is the most authentic Vietnamese food I’ve had in years! As someone born and raised in Việt Nam for 26 years, I was blown away by the variety and quality of the menu. My boyfriend (who’s Indian) is new to Vietnamese food, so this was the perfect way to introduce him to our cuisine.

The owner personally recommended their Sweet and Sour Bamboo with Catfish Hot Pot (Lẩu Măng Chua Cá Bông Lau), and it was phenomenal—a must-try!(I forgot to take a picture for the hot pot but the left over the color of the soup still looks so good next day). We also ordered Bánh Xèo, Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng, and Chicken Wings with Fish Sauce (Cánh Gà Chiên Nước Mắm). Every dish was bursting with authentic flavors and left us wanting more. We couldn’t finish it all, so we packed up half, and the leftovers were just as amazing the next day.

The service was equally impressive. Our waiter was attentive and even ran to the parking lot to hand us veggies we forgot for our to-go Bánh Xèo. Such a thoughtful touch!

This Pho Tau Bay is not related to the one in Houston, but it’s a true gem in Port Arthur. If you’re craving authentic Vietnamese food with exceptional service, this is the place.

When me && my husband got there we was greeted by a sweet young boy who told us we can sit anywhere so naturally I picked the table in the corner closest to the door.
