They do live up to their claim of having the biggest cones in the thumb. 24 flavors of Stroh’s Ice cream and 9 homemade. Competitive prices on the cones not so much on the souvenirs and trinkets. I don’t think the waffle cones are made in house but it was fresh and crispy all the same. No indoor seating. Outdoor bench and picnic table seating with most shaded. Limited lot and street parking. NO indoor restrooms or hand washing stations, just an outdoor porta potty. Young, friendly staff that verbally thank you for your tip. I would return if I was in the area.

I used to go here all the time when the previous owner had it, unfortunately it was about eight years since I was last there. They use to have the best highest quality ice cream, the sizes were so generous and the price was very reasonable. Now it's completely different. We first noticed that they use a much cheaper brand of ice cream and it's loaded with chemicals (don't let the "homemade" fool you, it has tons of chemicals). That wasn't even the worst part though.... The rude attitude from the young cashiers working at the register - as if we were bothering them as they sat there doing nothing - was the first thing that was off-putting. When we asked to speak to the owner, Brian, he came out in the most unfriendly and gruff way (quite surprising for the owner of a business to conduct himself like this). Needless to say, we turned around and bolted out of there without getting any ice cream. We then went straight to Blue Moon Ice Cream in Port Austin (near the light) and it is altogether 100% better. Not only do they use high quality ice cream with NO chemicals, but the owner is wonderful. This guy really knows how to conduct a business, and the cashiers are friendly and helpful as well (kind-of what you would expect from an ice cream place to begin with anyway). Don't waste your time going to Grindstone, unfortunately it's not at all what...

Ice cream - really tasty and generous scoops!

Service - rushed and condescending.

I have been coming here since I was a little girl with many fond memories of 90s summers spent renting videos and getting ice cream. Today I brought my son to get ice cream as it is a bit of a sentimental thing, even if the store isn't there. As I was ordering the gentleman taking my order seemed to be in a big hurry, okay, I understand, but I am Autistic and I have a hard time getting my words out in stressful situations, which this quickly became as I realized there was a small line behind me and this man was hurrying me. I was ordering for my husband and myself and while I would have been slow to begin with, now I am going really slow and the man taking my order is getting shorter with me. I also didnt move aside fast enough for his liking and when the server called out part of my order and I stepped up to take it I was sharply told it wasnt mine - or something along those lines. Not quite sure what I had done to upset your employee (perhaps the owner?) So much, but I apologize for being Autistic and taking up space. We will, unfortunately, not...

Ice Cream: okay, Sizing: great, Crappy Attitude: Priceless. My mother, 4 year old niece, and I arrived an hour after they opened in hopes of getting the Ice cream my mother used to get with her grandpa 20 years ago. We decided to make a last minute stop to go here before heading back home because she remembered how great the sizes and the ice cream were. Yet, we were met with scowls and the feeling of not being welcomed. At first I thought that it was because we just walked in and they were tired, but after my niece asked for a baby superman cone and not one person wanted to smile or try to be polite while she was getting excited for her ice cream, I no longer cared. If that wasn't enough, the store was being restocked while my family sat outside and only my mother helped the man coming in with piles of ice cream into the store and then I went up to open the door for another man hauling boxes of cones. Not once did the owner or employees inside try to make it easier for said workers. All in All, I would say try this place once, but sadly we do not plan on...
