Marina Shores Yacht Club (Open Year Round to the Public) — Restaurant in Portage

If i could give this place a 0 i would. We were told numerous times by the wait staff that they were short staffed so we tried to be patient. However, waiting for at least 15 minutes (maybe longer) for our server to even acknowledge that we were there should have been our first clue to leave. We had to remind our server for the 3 sodas we ordered and she never offered to refill any beverages. At one point i asked her for a refill of our waters and she never came back. Like literally she never returned to our table! We waited over an hour for our food. My California salad was literally just cut up tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, a handful of sliced red onions just thrown on the middle of the plate and chunks of grilled chicken put on top. No olive oil, no vinegarette, no seasonings-nothing. My son’s Caesars salad was soggy like it had been sitting for a while. My daughter said the best thing she ate was the bun on her chicken sandwich. My husband had to go to the bar to get the bill and the to go boxes. I came here to celebrate finishing my Spartan Race earlier in the day, and this was the perfect spot to do so. To get to the restaurant, you take the elevator down to the lower level where the bar and dining area look great, but my party and I chose to sit outside by the fence to enjoy the beautiful marina views. I definitely recommend eating outside if the weather allows—it makes the experience even better.

Our waitress (I believe her name was Malina—apologies if I got that wrong) was excellent and really added to the evening.

As for the food, I ordered the Marina Burger and highly recommend it—it was juicy, flavorful, and topped with just the right amount of cheese. One of the best burgers I’ve had in a while. My lady had the Buffalo shrimp and loved it, while my daughter enjoyed her sushi. On top of that, they offer a really fun selection of drinks to choose from.

It took 20 min to get a table, despite the fact that there were several tables available. After a table was assigned, it took 15 min to the waitress to come to us. We were with kids and at some point I had to go inside and ask for a manager because the kids started to complain. We wanted few more drinks, it was easier to go inside and order at the bar, rather than being served. I even had to remind the waitress 2 times to bring the lemonade for the kids. After 50 min that we were sit we left without eating. I am attaching a picture to show that it was not busy at all, so there was no excuse but incompetence.

UPDATE. After I posted this, I found few other reviews from the same day reporting a similar (terrible) experience. One day later, there were instead several 5* reviews reporting amazing experience and stating "the service was quick". This indicates that they are cheating in my opinion and asking friends to put...
