Paesano's Italian Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Porter Township

I want to preface this by saying that I have been many times before with friends AND with my girlfriend and have pleasant experiences, however, this time was highly disappointing! I would also like to add my girlfriend is a black woman and I felt that the waitress perhaps may have been a little racist with how she handled things. Keep in mind, the night we went, it wasn’t busy. We were there, ordered our food, we were waiting for a good bit for food (which didn’t bother us, we both had a long day at work and were just talking.) Three different groups of people came in separately, ordered their food, got to get ice cream and pay all before we even got our food. It was a little long at that point, but I’m all for fresh food, so that’s not what we were upset about. Not once did the waitress stop over to ask us if we needed drink refills, tell us if our food was almost done, NOTHING. Keep in mind, we ordered an appetizer as well. Not a thing on a plate came out. The woman wouldn’t even look us in the eyes. Finally, we get our food. After we eat our pizza and stromboli, my girlfriend reminds me of the appetizer. The waitress passes by, addresses all of the other customers, visibly avoiding us, and I wave her over asking for the bill and she mentions the garlic bread appetizer… I said “it’s an appetizer, we’re done with our food now” and she says about putting it in a to-go container. I’m just thinking, what’s the point of bringing out an appetizer last minute like that, completely avoiding us the whole time, and not even bothering to ask us about the food being good/asking for drink refills? I’m all for people getting fair wages and everything and I’m a great tipper when the service goes above and beyond especially, but this woman didn’t get a...

This place has great Italian food...DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FANCY it's a great place to get a great meal for a great price and not have to worry about how you look. Come as you are kind of atmosphere. Family owned with the absolute BEST ITALIAN DRESSING!!! Then after you're done have yourself a regular good old fashioned ice cream cone. Again, nothing fancy just some good mostly homemade food for a fair price. They are always nice but if you need pampered like some people do and can't handle a waitress that's just doing their job you may think they're being a little rude at times but I really don't think that's the case more than that's just the Italian coming out in them...lol. I would personally give the atmosphere a 5 star but some people then would expect something fancy. Go check it out...they've been in business for a very long time so that counts...

Ordered here numerous times and everytime I'm disappointed. I am finally refusing to do business here. I always go in and order. I specifically tell them what I want with very minor adjustments to salads...confirm several times with the unsmiling girl at the counter what my order is and if she understood. Then, I wait in the restaurant the whole time. Watch the girl who took my order play on her phone and even slow to wait on new guests. Watch the to go order pile up and then have to ask for mine when it comes up. Then I get my order and it's totally and completely wrong. I am tired of wasting my money here. I'll travel father for a simple plain chicken salad, only chicken, cheese, and fries...
