Leroy's "Hot Stuff" — Restaurant in Porter

To begin with; I usually order food for delivery because I work alot. So I have not been able to actually go there.

Food; the food is great, I have ordered several different things. And none of them have been disappointing whatsoever! Always delicious! Even with the delivery, the food is hot!

This is where I have an issue: delivery is hit or miss with this place. I ordered food a few days ago, and my food was suppose to be here at 11:00 am. I got a message 10 minutes before it was suppose to be here that it was on the way...YAY! At 11:45 I still had not received my food, and it is only a 7 minute drive. As I got ready to call them, they called me to let me know that the driver forgot or did something and was now on the way, and the lady on the phone wasnt necessarily short with me, but you could tell something was not quite right in her voice. I am happy that they contacted me. And it seems that they dont always have delivery. I was told that he would be there shortly, waited an hour, still not there, waited another hour, still not there. Checked hours later, still no delivery. Checked today, and again, no delivery. This is kinda disappointing as I really really like their food. If their driver is not reliable, they need to get another driver, or possibly partner with uber eats, doordash, etc.

Again, I LOVE LOVE LOVE their food, so dont take this review as a bad thing. Once they get reliable delivery service going, I will absolutely raise my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars

What a gem of a restaurant. While traveling we were looking for Mexican for a late dinner and this was one of the options close to our hotel.

First off, it does have a “dive bar” vibe when you look at some of the online pictures but the restaurant is divided up in more of a traditional sit down side (decorated like you’d expect from a small Mexican food joint) and a bar side (complete with pool tables and a long bar).

The price was great and the food was great. The standard chips and salsa were crispy and fresh (even at 8pm) and the salsa had a nice spicy kick that was a pleasant surprise.

We took advantage of the Taco Tuesday special (a plate of 3 tacos) and chose soft corn tortillas. It was nice to have the choice of corn or flour. We also could have chosen crispy. Both the chicken and the pork were very tasty and the tacos were absolutely stuffed. I actually regretted getting the add-on rice and beans because the tacos were plenty on their own. Each taco used 2 tortillas to ensure they didn’t fall apart (yet another pleasant surprise).

Being able to feed two people for less than the cost of 2 McDonalds value meals was the icing on the cake. Wish this place was...

Firstly, I'll say that I've been coming to Leroy's for years. They catered our wedding in 2016 and Leroy couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The food was excellent and he went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. Fast forward to 2025 and things have seemingly gone downhill. Two separate times recently, I attempted to make a to-go order over the phone. The first time, someone answered, then would hang up the phone. After dealing with this a few times, I gave up. The second time I tried, months later, someone placed me on hold and left me for 5 minutes until I hung up. I kind of gave up until recently, when we saw you could order Leroy's on Grubhub. Though the ordering experience was much better, the food was subpar. Stale taco shells, mold on the sour cream, sopping wet tostadas...its just not what it used to be. It was never a MICHELIN Restaurant, but there was a genuine care that came through in the food and service. I know they'd make it right if I complained but what's the use? I probably won't be back unless I hear they've turned over a new leaf...and I hope that happens because Leroy's used to be a...
