UPDATE: Iām working in Springville again, so I gave Java Express another chance. Their drinks are still pricey. They charge for any add-ons. In their defense, a lot of coffee places have gotten expensive and charge extra, so I can let that slide. The drinks are still great. The thing that frustrated me this time is their loyalty card. Not only did they not honor my old Wild Oak card, now the card requires 12 drinksāthatās more than most places. On top of that, I ordered a medium this time and handed over my card. She refused to punch the card, saying that itās only for large drinks. Come on. Then my coworker pointed out that itās not a free drinkāitās a free drink up to $6. What drink costs $6? Most things on their menu cost more than $6. What kind of loyalty reward is that? I tore up the reward card. Iām still not sure Iāll be frequenting this place anymore. Iām bummed.
PREVIOUS REVIEW: This place used to be called Wild Oak. Java Express took over the location. The atmosphere feels the same. The employees are friendly and efficient. I got a chai latte with pumpkin cold foam. It was really, really good (hence the five stars for food). The reason I gave a low rating, though, is because I have a punch card for Wild Oak. I asked if they would honor it, and they said they would not. I understand why they wouldn't, but also why not honor it to keep a potentially loyal customer coming back? Instead, I feel like they don't value my business. The other reason I gave it a low rating is because I paid $8.50 for a medium drink with tip. So it was about $7.50 for a medium. I never paid that much for a drink when it was Wild Oak. Then my coworker told me she paid over $20 for a salad and a drink. And my other coworker said she was charged $1 for heavy cream instead of half and half. I work in Springville once a week, and I loved frequenting Wild Oak. But after this experience, I'm not sure how often I'll be visiting Java Express, which is a bummer because I enjoy the ambience, salads, and sandwiches....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo glad we stopped here for lunch. Yes, coffee may be the big draw but my veggie sandwich served on an everything bagel was fresh and delicious! The Cowboy had a turkey sandwich on sourdough...all with chips, an Arnold Palmer and soft chocolate chip cookie. But you know...the thing that was most impressive??? Like Cheers...it seemed the staff knew everyone! And if they didn't....they knew a little bit about you before you jumped on your pony and rode off into the sunset! If you're in Springville area, come by, order up some coffee, breakfast or lunch. Grab a table on the patio and treat yourself to some chatter with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat coffee. Delicious sandwiches. Friendly employees and owners. Good atmosphere. Consistency. We have felt welcome here from the start. It's cute, has a nice little patio and amazing views of the surrounding foothills. This is our favorite place to eat in Springville. Heck, this is our favorite place to eat in the county! My random special requests are always met with a smile. Yesterday, I wanted a hot mint mocha, and they did a great job on it. Tasted like Christmas in a cup! Keep up the good work! We'll see...
