I am legitimately puzzled by the experience I had at Driftwood today. I wanted to sit down and have a cup of coffee and strategize before a meeting I was on my way to. I walk in and at the counter a sign states “I am out back” …So I go out to the back area of the shop and peak outside and find who I presume is the owner/barista sitting on a patio chair, chatting with someone. She excuses herself from the conversation by saying, “back to it!” In a tone that I perceive as annoyed. She comes inside and asks me what I would like. I tell her that I’d love a cappuccino with a little honey and cinnamon. “What???” She sounds exasperated. “Honey???” She looks at me with a deadpan face, I assume a request to ask me to explain further. I’m clearly confused but just tell her, again, honey and cinnamon cappuccino. “I have organic honey sweetener or I have honey on your side” At this point I’m completely confused as to what she is asking me so I dismiss it with a friendly, “whatever you have is fine!” She says it will be up in a few because she “likes to have the milk sit” - as a barista myself, I have no clue what that would mean but I nod in agreement. I go to pay with my Apple Pay and the system isn’t accepting my card. “Oh yeah, it does that sometimes.” I explain that I only have Apple Pay and she says, “coffee is on the house today. Just pay it forward, I guess” and now CLEARLY annoyed, as if it’s my fault that her system is not working. I sit down and a couple minutes later I’m handed off the most ridiculous looking cup of “coffee” I’ve ever seen. As I previously mentioned, I’m a barista as well, but am not picky by any means. The cappuccino provided by her was honestly insulting. A giant puff of overly-steamed milk in a cup with burnt-tasting coffee underneath. I took a moment to consider the experience I had just had and was so uncomfortable and weirded out that I left without finishing my “cappuccino” To summarize, I will never be returning to Driftwood. Awful service, awful coffee. The person I had this exchange with today was obviously the owner which makes this experience twice as bad. Clearly no integrity with your product or care for your customers. And I suggest doing more research on what a cappuccino is… With so many great options around Garden Home, steer clear of this subpar shop.

This charming café is a must-visit destination for coffee connoisseurs and those seeking a tranquil retreat. Upon entering, guests are immediately enveloped in a cozy, cabin-like atmosphere, complete with rustic wooden furniture and warm, inviting décor. The café's commitment to quality is evident in its expertly crafted coffee beverages. The coffee itself is rich and full-bodied, with a smooth texture that is sure to please even the most discerning palates. However, what truly sets this café apart is its exceptional atmosphere. The abundance of natural light pouring in through the windows creates a bright and airy feel, while the comfortable seating areas invite patrons to linger over their beverages. Whether seeking a peaceful spot to work, study, or simply relax, this café provides the perfect ambiance. The rustic, natural aesthetic of the café's interior, combined with its excellent coffee and welcoming atmosphere, make it an ideal destination for those seeking a unique and enjoyable coffee experience. Whether visiting from near or far, this café is sure to leave a lasting impression.

Great place to get really good coffee from nice people. What I love every time I go to Driftwood is the mix of people I see. Yesterday I saw an older gentleman sitting at an outdoor table, 3 young women hustling to get to work, 4 old timers at a table solving the world's problems, all enjoying the very welcoming atmosphere. My iced coffee had coffee icecubes!!! Go here and enjoy a truly unique and wonderful coffee shop with great, friendly staff and a very caring owner.

Went 3 days in a row hoping it was just a one time occurrance. First time I walk in the man behind the counter is not wearing a mask, I ask for my coffee extra hot, it's barely luke warm. 2nd day I ask for it extra hot from the lady and it's again barely luke warm. 3rd day I ask for it extra hot and it's again barely luke warm so I ask if it's ok if she remakes it. She then tells me it's like 180° and I say oh maybe your thermometers aren't calibrated. I told her I like to stick them in ice water then adjust them to 32° and she just stuck 4 thermometers in my drink and said "yup they're like 180°" which would literally give 1st degree burns if that were true and then she dumped the entire cup into a steamer and steamed the espresso and syrup and milk all together and dumped it back in the same cup and said there ya go. I literally didn't know what to say and walked out. Will not be returning...
