I’ve never tried Laughing Planet before, though I’ve really meant to. I found a deal on Too Good To Go, an app meant to reduce food waste, and I saw it as a sign that I should finally try it. For $5 I got a small chicken, cheese, rice, and corn burrito; a side of rice and beans with a green salsa sauce; and three giant chocolate peppermint cookies. Everything was delicious! The chicken in the burrito was plentiful and moist. I have no idea what that green sauce was but it was SO good! I liked that the black beans weren’t over cooked—they still were still in bean form as opposed to overcooks beans that mush up (but aren’t supposed to be refried-style). The cookies were amazing and I feel so lucky to have gotten three lol. Everything I ate was fresh and didn’t feel stale. I’m definitely intrigued now and will be back to try something on the menu.

If you are looking for a great family friendly veg-vegan-gluten free eco options restaurant with friendly staff and great service , this is it. Try the spicy Thai bowl with peanut sauce with tofu, or the warm spicing of the Harvest bowl or Comfort bowl with tempeh. Eight local beers on tap are always available. The veg chili, in small or large size, is excellent alongside a bowl of guacamole and chips, and the burritos are popular, too. The Buoy IPA from Astoria was an excellent choice as is the Migration tap. A popular family friendly neighborhood restaurant means it is frequently busy, but there is a patio out back which is perfect on a clear day. Phone and online ordering is available.

You’ll find me here pretty often for lunch, getting my dose of semi-healthy fast food. It’s always tasty, prepared fresh and hot and the servers are awesome. Love that they have beer wine and even some cocktails too. I usually get a chicken burrito which is robust and really filling, or the Thai Bowl or Bollywood Bowl if I want some veggies and more flavor with my protein. Generally a happy place with a good vibe inside (and usually lots of kids) and lots of seating, though I gotta say the lighting and decor in back is atrocious: the only windows are upfront. Back patio is pretty sad too. But there’s plenty of parking…

Let's be honest, sometimes fast food means mediocre grub and grumpy service. Not at Laughing Planet! My visit on the evening of December 27th, 2023, with my family was a breath of fresh air (pun intended, since their smoothies are fantastic!).

First off, the food was phenomenal. Perfectly prepared, bursting with flavor, and clearly made with quality ingredients. My burrito was like a fiesta in my mouth, and my daughter devoured her smoothie with the kind of focus usually reserved for watching cartoons. They even have options for all kinds of dietary needs, from vegan to vegetarian to gluten-free, without sacrificing an ounce of taste.

But the most heartwarming part was the service. We had our order in our hands faster than you can say "guac," and the staff was just beaming. When my daughter accidentally toppled her beloved mango smoothie (which, by the way, she declared the best smoothie ever by loudly announcing "DELICIOUS!"), there wasn't even a flinch. They whipped up a fresh one in a blink, complete with a spill-proof lid this time around (talk about thinking on their feet!). I wanted to pay for the replacement but they insisted otherwise. It's clear this team takes pride in making sure everyone leaves with a smile (and a full stomach).

This experience was a stark contrast to our visits to the old Lake Oswego store. The staff there always seemed to lack interest, and honestly, the food wasn't much better. It's no wonder they didn't make it. This Laughing Planet, though? They've got their stuff together. It's a model of efficiency, friendliness, and culinary excellence.

So, if you're looking for a fast, delicious, and genuinely enjoyable meal, skip the drive-thrus and head to Laughing Planet. You won't be disappointed (even if your smoothie takes a tumble!).

Pro-tip: Ask for the spill-proof lid if you're dining with little ones. You'll...

First time I went there I payed $11 for a burrito and a glass of water. Really didn't wanna go back but I work nearby and so I thought I'd give them another chance. Mistake. I called ahead, it rang several times before anyone picked up and when someone finally did they immediately asked to put me on hold. I agreed but instead the person just put the phone down and I had to listen to her help several other customers before returning to my call. When she finally did come back I heard some noises and then she hung up on me. So being me I decided to call back. I was then informed that this location cannot afford a working phone system and when too many calls come in it just "starts kicking people off". A complete BS excuse but I really wanted a kimchi quesadilla so I proceeded to order. This is when I find out that it takes over 20 minutes to put some cheese and kimchi inside a tortilla and throw it in a press. So I said no thanks and now I've learned my lesson: don't be sucked it by the appeal, it's overpriced and all my co-workers have complained about how often their orders...
