We came in for a late lunch to grab two burritos. The surfing California and the Azteca asada burrito with a Jarritos and water. The burritos were good, but the Surfing California was way better than the Azteca. The tortilla was fresh, the ingredients were fresh and our order was served in under 10 minutes. Parking on the street can be an issue if you come during busy hours. The sitting area was a little dirty (not bad, just needed some tables wiped down) and the space does feel cramped. Overall the value of the food was okay. For the price I did expect a bigger serving or chips included, but I'm still happy with our experience and will likely come back to try other dishes. For two burritos and a drink with a tip our bill was just over $30. We did not go into the bar attached to the restaurant but it looked clean...

We came to Portland first time from Cali and were looking for good Mexican food. Saw El Burrito Azteca Bar and decided to try it. It is less than 5 miles from the airport. There were many choices from tacos ro burritos bowls, and all sounded good. We went with the shrimp tacos rice and beans and the potato flautas. Taste was phenomenal. They had a happy hour special 2-6pm, for chips and salsa and alcohol, and thw time we arrived was perfect. I was really impressed by the tequila selection. They had many options from white to reposado and anejo. The owner is from Guadalajara. The bartender and server was a kind friendly and helpful young man who was bilingual in Spanish, and spoke to my parents in their language. Overall I am happy to have come across this place and I recommend it to locals...

Very disappointed considering that I used all the good reviews to make my decision. I ordered three street tacos- 1 fish, 1 shrimp, 1 carne asada plus potato taquitos. The tacos were boring with little flavor. The worst was the carne asada which was scalding hot inside taco( I'm sure it was microwaved)and lacked any seasoning. The second taco I bit into was another meat taco. They did not give me a shrimp taco. It was too much trouble to ask them to fix it as I didn't expect that one to taste much better. Taquitos were average. I bought dinner for two other people. They told me that it was ok, not great. Lots of room for improvement at this place. It was dead in there too at 5:30-6:30. I would...

I will preface this review by saying I was extremely hungry and quite upset when I was walking in here. It smelled slightly of piss first of all. The prices were very high, the amount of food you get however does feel like it justifies the price as you get a large amount of food. The food was so hot it left a boil on the top of my mouth, it also seemed to be mostly bread on my tamale and hardly any meat which was upsetting but tasted good nonetheless. Overall kinda mid, I probably would have had a much better experience if I came earlier in the day and ordered a burrito as I heard they are known for them.

I have been on a 2 year quest to find a burrito that comes close to San Diego taco shop level and this place might be it! Super generous portion, the California burrito actually had the things it's supposed to have, the meat was tasty, and while I was in there a woman went in who was clearly struggling and asked for food and the staff gave her a free burrito. Awesome, quick service plus compassion. I'll be back for taco Tuesday, I saw a sign for cheap tacos and $4 coronas!
