I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this cozy, colonial-style restaurant that quickly became one of my new favorites. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a charming ambiance that made us feel right at home. The hostess greeted us with a smile and seated us immediately, even on a busy Friday night.

We were lucky enough to be seated near a lovely wood-burning fireplace, which added to the intimate, cozy vibe of the evening. The live acoustic guitar music in the background was the perfect touch, creating a relaxing atmosphere that made it easy to unwind and enjoy the evening.

One of the standout parts of our visit was the way the staff handled an unexpected situation. My 15-month-old son had a stomach issue shortly after we arrived, and although it was unrelated to the restaurant, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They provided a sturdy high chair with a tabletop attachment, which is a rarity and greatly appreciated. From the hostess to the waiter, and even the owner, everyone checked on us multiple times to ensure we were okay. The compassion and understanding they showed during this time were truly heartwarming.

We decided to take our meal to go, and even though we weren’t able to enjoy it in the restaurant, the food and drinks we took home were absolutely delicious. The prices are reasonable for the quality of food, and we can’t wait to return for a full sit-down meal.

I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, great food, and...

An absolutely amazing restaurant. Italian, local, the freshest seafood possible delivered by a charming first generation Italian American. The restaurant is immaculately clean and pretty, even romantic inside. But to the most important, the food is incredible.

The portions are beyond generous, the pasta is phenomenal especially their seafood dishes. The Fruita DeMar was a wonderful mix of seafood and Chorizo in a garlic wine oil sauce. With compliments to the chef for The light hand, allowing the incredibly fresh food to speak for itself. The portion was so large, I had dinner and lunch for two days. The fillet stuffed with lobster scampi is decadent. Their pizza is better than anything that can be found in Providence or the North end of Boston. The other thing the restaurant does, which is almost unheard of for generosity, is they include a stuffed quahog, salad, and hot bread with the entrées. Stuffed quahogs have been a lifetime favorite of mine. In Newport area, almost all restaurants offer them. They are usually a baseball size piece of bread with a bit of sausage and seasoning and hopefully a taste of clam. This restaurant makes the best I truly have ever had. They are crispy on the outside and almost creamy on the inside loaded with piece of clams and chorizo And balanced seasoning. The house dressing, just like my moms.

The drinks are generous and pricing restrained, And the owner is quite a character. Guarantee a few laughs and always...

We had a lovely time with friends at The Valley Inn. We were visiting from out of state and our friends know how i love haunted things. This restaurant is supposedly haunted by a woman who died here. There is an episode on the Travel Channel on this as well. The food was great, with my meal came a stuffy amd a soup. We of course all got the french onion that was delicious. For my main meal i had the lobster ravioli in a pink sauce kind of like vodka sauce it was the best Lobster Rav ive ever had. Everyone's meals look and tasted amazing. 1 of our friends had a salad for dinner that looked so tempting. My husband had the swordfish he ate so quickly over two huge asparagus. He didnt share his meal lol and that says alot . He ate every last bite as did i even tho i was kind of full i couldn't stabd to let it go to waste. This evening we didnt have dessert. When leaving the restaurant we walked over to see someone the old restaurant menus on display as well as a selection of books written on the murder case. The owner saw us all browsing and came over to talk to us. He was so nice and friendly even giving us some info not told in the episode on Travel Channel. He was so thrilled that we came to eat there being we were from out of state. He was happy we stopped by and is such a nice...

I passes by this establishment a couple of times and I said I have to visit and I eat at it. Finally I did yesturday. Friendly staff with a very friendly and well mannered owner. We loved the atmosphere. Also there was some live music. Basically lovely atmosphere. We had some great food. All the way from the appetizers to the main courses. For a an appetizer, we had the littlenecks. It was cooked with onion and some sausages. It was very delicious. The sausages added some salty taste to it that when combined with littlenecks gave the ultimate taste. For the main course, we had fruti de mare ( a mix of seafood with pasta). It was a nice portion and very tasty. I would be glad to eat it one day again soon. Also we had the salmon. It came with mashed potatos and asparagus. Our food orders were simply perfect. Sadly, the restaurant’s food is a bit overpriced or else i would visit on weekly basis. Now I ll visit only on special occasions.

I can vouch for the other reviews! Had a very pleasant, satisfying and delicious meal here at Valley Inn on Fri March 17th! No St Patrick’s Day specialties but we came for the Italian dishes. The white pizza was delicious! I couldn’t decide between soup or salad- I had the salad. The blue cheese dressing was pungent and delicious! The French Onion reviewers were raving!!! I had the pasta Mario. I would have preferred Angel hair over Penne but the shrimp and clams were delicious with a flavorful garlic finish. Yes, the Bread was hard but we let it sit for a while because we requested the owner to tell us the ghost story of this historical ((1673) building! A very entertaining, impressive, jaw dropping Ghost and back story of the original house. Cant wait to find out more! We will be back! Live music, fire place, wonderful bartender and attentive wait staff!

I had a friend in Newport who recommended this place. Beautiful, architecturally interesting farmhouse with eclectic interior design. The kitchen was a bit behind, but they were upfront about the wait and the server was engaging, and the manager came around to talk to us during the wait. I enjoyed the lobster stuffed filet, and was shocked to see the huge chunks of crustacean packed into the meal, which was frankly too large to finish in one sitting. French onion soup had unreal quantities of Gruyère and a terrific crouton, and the addition of a Quahog to every entree was welcome. My friends had scallops and salmon, which they were suspiciously reluctant to share. Wine menu was solid, with a wonderful Malbec to accompany the surf and turf. Charmingly, they had old menus and a history at the door. Will definitely be back on my next trip to RI.
