Doug's Waterin Hole — Restaurant in Poteau

I walked in for my first time and i really liked the look of the pool tables and games. When I sat down at the bar and asked about the Sam Adams seasonal brew, the bartender told me it's seasonal. I asked, "what kind of seasonal?" She told me it's "seasonal". I asked if it was the Octoberfest. She said "no". So I asked her what the seasonal was, and she said she didn't know. She didn't pour a sample or ask someone who would know. They have like six or eight tap beers. How do to not know what is on tap as the bartender? I worked as a bartender at a place with 52 beers on tap with constant rotations, so every day we reviewed our beer menu. I gave up on trying to get an answer about the seasonal beer and ordered a Blue Moon. She gave me a pint for $7. That seems very expensive for a pint of beer in Poteau. I also asked for the orange slice, which is how they are always served, and she just said, "we are out."

I left her a $3 tip. I took one sip and left. That's the only $10 they will ever get from me. The place had potential. Maybe she was new, but if you charge $7 for a pint your service should be...

Friendly staff, very entertaining and personable karaoke DJ. Other customers were cheerful and seemed to be having a good time.
