Not impressed. We have lived within a couple of miles of this place for 30 years and finally decided to give it a try. We knew that this was primarily a biker bar, but we were hoping that this was one of those hidden gems with really good food. We arrived about 6:00 on a Sunday night and there was one other table and one patron at the bar. The bartender came to our table right away and took our drink order, but arrived without menus. The whole time we were there, the bartender seemed to be bothered by the fact that we were there, especially since my wife just ordered water to drink. The bartender gave us one menu to share when she brought our drinks. We selected our food and clearly put the menu down indicating that we were ready to order, but the bartender just stood there watching a NASCAR race on TV. After about 5 minutes we finally had to ask her if we could order some food. It bears repeating that the place was nearly empty and the bartender wasn't doing anything else, just standing there watching the race.
My wife ordered a burger the way she always does. Plain, with no cheese. "Just meat and bun," the same way I have heard her order a burger a hundred times before. I ordered 2 coney dogs. The bartender asked if I wanted fries and I clearly said no.
About 25 minutes later our food arrived. How long does it take to cook a burger and 2 coney dogs when we are the only customers ordering food? Still, we hoped that the food would be worth waiting for. My wife's burger arrived with cheese when she clearly said that she didn't want cheese. Due to the time it took to make one burger she decided to eat it anyhow. The cook brought out our food and he couldn't have been nicer, asking repeatedly if we needed anything else. My wife asked for salt and he brought it out right away, along with an order of fries that I clearly said I did not want. My coneys were pretty good. I asked my wife how good her burger was and she didn't say that it was bad, but she really couldn't tell because all that she tasted was the cheese that she didn't want.
We were charged extra for the cheese that my wife didn't want, and $4.75 for the fries that I didn't want and didn't eat. Total bill was about $35 for 2 bottled beers, 2 coney dogs, a cheeseburger when we wanted a hamburger, and an order of fries that we didn't want.
Similar issue when we were done eating. I had to walk up to the bar and ask to pay our bill, and I was met with the same indifferent attitude. I would never do it, but I probably could have walked out without paying and she would have been fine with that because it was less work for her.
The main issue was the bartender. She acted like she really didn't want to be there and we were bothering her by asking her to do her job. My food was good and I would return the next time I want a coney dog if I thought that I would not be treated like I was interrupting the staff's day by asking...
ย ย ย Read moreCame in for lunch today as it was highly recommended by someone I knew. This establishment did not live up to my expectations unfortunately. I had their signature burger which was served overcooked with a stale bun. I also noticed it to have an usual tomato sauce flavor. Makes me wonder where and how it was prepared. Fries and onion rings were fine. It took a long while for my meal to come out although it wasn't busy at the time. After I paid the bill, I realized I wasn't given the $3 daily discount on hamburger baskets. My conclusion is that Ten Mile is a neighborhood bar first and foremost which is fine if you're coming into have a drink. However, as far as their food menu items, you would be better off getting a...
ย ย ย Read moreI was very impressed with this bar. It's been a while since I've been here, but the vibe is still cool and the bartenders are not only highly skilled, but also very friendly. The food was excellent, and although the service was a little slow, it was cordial and there seemed to be new people in training. The entertainment and service were excellent, especially for cyclists, and the place has a unique vibe. The warmth and simplicity of the staff made you feel welcome. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience and I would...
