El Rodeo Bar & Grill in Dodge City, KS, is a hidden gem that delivers an unforgettable Mexican dining experience. From the moment you step inside, the vibrant atmosphere sweeps you away with its colorful murals and lively music, setting the perfect stage for a flavorful meal. The menu is a treasure trove of authentic dishes—think sizzling fajitas, perfectly spiced enchiladas, and tacos bursting with fresh ingredients. My personal favorite, the chili relleno, was a masterpiece of crispy batter and melted cheese, paired with a side of rice and beans that tasted like a home-cooked hug. Every bite showcases the care and tradition poured into the food, making it clear why locals rave about this spot.

The service at El Rodeo is just as impressive as the cuisine. The staff greets you with genuine warmth and moves with a hustle that keeps your drinks full and plates arriving hot. During my visit, our server recommended the house-made guacamole, and it was a game-changer—creamy, zesty, and piled high with chunks of avocado that made the fresh tortilla chips sing. Even when the place was buzzing with a lively crowd, the team managed to keep everything running smoothly, ensuring every guest felt like a priority. It’s the kind of place where you can relax solo with a michelada or gather with friends for a fiesta, and the staff’s energy only adds to the fun.

What seals the deal for El Rodeo Bar & Grill is its unbeatable combination of quality and value. The portions are generous enough to leave you satisfied without breaking the bank, and the drink menu—featuring standout margaritas and refreshing horchata—complements every dish perfectly. Located just a short stroll from Boot Hill, it’s an ideal stop for travelers and locals alike, offering a taste of Mexico that feels both authentic and approachable. Whether you’re craving a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, El Rodeo delivers a consistently delightful experience that lingers long after the last bite. I’m already counting the days until I can saddle up for another round of their...

I was really hoping to be able to write a rave review because I've eaten here before but never rated it. Unfortunately, things went haywire as soon as I walked in. I stood at the door for several minutes without being acknowledged. I even thought I might have been in the wrong spot to get seated but didn't see anyplace else to stand.

I was finally seated and then waited for several minutes until a server came to ask what I wanted to drink. After she dropped off my drink, I then began the wait to order. And wait. And wait.

I walked into the restaurant at 7:33 and my order was finally taken at 7:57. Twenty-four minutes to go from front door to having my order taken. That pace would continue through the entire meal.

I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was good!! Nicely done, very large and it came with salad and bread. Tender enough to cut with my fork and the breading had a great flavor.

But drink refills and check-ups by the server were at the same slowwwwwww pace as the rest of the evening.

Now they were busy when I came in but not overwhelmed it didn't appear. Did they see an out-of-towner rather than a local who they knew?? ...

DO NOT TRUST THEIR FOOD. I was visiting family and saw the menu which was appealing. I get there with my family and one person who was very allergic to onions. We ordered an item seemingly without onions because it was not mentioned and not listed that it included it. Once delivered we saw onions, we asked to get it without onions and instead of just remaking the dish the waitress decided to ask again which the cook said there were NONE in the dish. She started eating thinking that there were no onions in the dish...we later get informed that there were onions. She attempted to make up the mistake by comping the next menu item we chose as well as being very apologetic. The Manager then cut in and told her that we will be charged for everything, I approached the manager regarding the issue to give him an opportunity to make this right but I got strong push back as well as comments telling us to "make more educated choices" and that "you're a waste of my time." This ended with medicine we had to promptly take due to the allergic reaction that ensued. HORRIBLE, GREEDY, AND...

Heard about this place from some locals, who recommended the stake! Tonight's special was either a 12oz ribeye or an 8oz filet with salad, choice of potatoes and bread for $25.99. I opted for the half-pound burger medium well with a fries. Burger came out with a piece of lettuce, slice of tomato, red onion slice and thin sandwich pickles. Burger was cooked perfectly and tasted good. Please note that the Uptown Cafe side was closed but that should not make a difference as both sides traditionally have the same menu. (Maybe the cafe is open for lunch and the club open for dinner and drinks?) My only issue is that the menu shown on their website is out of date. Actual prices are about 25% to 33% higher than those presented on their website. Their premium steaks now sell for $39.99 v $29.99 on website. Their other steaks sell for $29.99 v $19.99 on website. Burger and fries are not $13.99 v $10.99. Also, there was a small service charge on my bill. Not sure if that was something I ordered (bun on the side?) or something the restaurant just tacks on.

Well, we aren't from Pratt, but we were passing through. It seems like a nice fancy place, with a good selection of food. If you're not a local, don't expect the service to be amazing. The wait staff was attentive and chatting with everyone EXCEPT US. We had to stop staff for everything we needed. If we hadn't, I'm afraid no one would have noticed we were sitting at a table. We ordered blooming onion, and it was alright. The swordfish was good, cooked perfectly. The chicken fried steak was nothing special. It was hot and had a good crust but lacked flavor. The gravy had no flavor. The star of our meal was the Brussel Sprouts. They were VERY delicious. I don't know if this place prefers just local patrons or if they just don't get enough non-locals stopping by. It's was like they had no idea how to treat a customer they hadn't met before.
