Went hoping for good steaks and frog legs, but unfortunately, found neither. While both options were available, they were also severely lacking. The pace of the meal was pretty bad. We had our appetizers for less than 5 minutes before the main food came out. My spouse's Manhattan whiskey came out in a chipped glass after the bread, but before the appetizers. We ordered the Mahi Mahi, which was way overdone and dry. Tasted like canned tuna would have had better flavor. The steak, a New york strip, while certainly thicker than standard, was not trimmed appropriately. I had to cut grissel off myself. When ordered rare, the steak came out more around medium. The char wasn't that great either, mushrooms for the steak didn't really taste grilled more like if you opened a can and plopped them on top. The potato sides were odd as well. We got the au gratin potatoes, a traditionally layered cheesy buttery potato baked dish. Here what they served in a ramekin was more what you'd find along the lines of grandmas shredded potato hotdish. We also got the baked potato and the fries. Both were normal if a little bland. The frog legs, which I was hopeful for given their price, tasted a lot like from frozen. The batter was too thick as well, leaving me with a batter casing and a naked leg, which was very bland even with cocktail sauce, which was an odd choice in and of itself. All the food desperately needed better seasoning. Even some salt and pepper would have been better than whatever they had going on. The pork belly bites were the best part, but they shouldn't have pieces that are all fat. Whoever is in charge of trimming was not on their A game. Probably won't go again. Decor wise was very hunting lodge styled. With their view opportunity and the right lighting could feel very inviting.

I can start with atmosphere- very warm and inviting. The dining room is large and spacious with plenty of room between tables. It’s not loud and chaotic. We were able to easily carry on a conversation at our table. Next up- service. Absolutely amazing. Pam was our waitress and she was phenomenal. She was knowledgeable about the different cuts of meat and offered advice when needed. We were never left waiting for her. The drinks were awesome!! Many restaurants struggle to make a good martini- the branding iron does not! The dirty martins were delicious and so was the espresso one. The espresso martini had no cream in it which surprised me at first but the I was amazed how smooth it was. Then a great little chocolate covered espresso bean treat at the bottom. Finally- the food!!!! Mmmmmmm. I had the New York strip medium rare. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It had just the right amount of seasoning that didn’t overpower the high quality meat. The salad and cheesy potatoes were equally tasty. This cozy supper club hidden in the hills is top notch. I can’t wait to go back!! Kudos to our waitress Pam. We’ll done 🥰

Neat supper club feel. Our waitress Skyla was friendly, fast and attentive. My husband got the smoked pork chop which was extremely good, so was his baked potato. My chicken strips were also quite tasty. The Caesar salads had too much crouton crushed on top. And the Bread Basket was hard pieces of garlic bread that were completely soaked in oil so we couldn't eat them. We also ordered an appetizer of onion rings on recommendation of our bed and breakfast host and they were good as well but also very greasy. This restaurant did have another negative. They charge you to use a card and the more your bill is the more you get charged! Which makes no sense as it is usually a basic nine cent flat fee to use a card (easy to look up Mn law for this online) . So we had to pay $1.50 to pay with a card for our bill that was over $50. Kind of ridiculous! If anything it should be the more you spend the less you get charged, not the other way around as it does not cost the restaurant any more no matter what the bill is.

THE 2 HOUR, 35 MINUTE MEAL WE DID NOT EAT (6:15-8:50): First waited 40 minutes to order as we watched those seated well after attended to (yes, same waitress with empty tables). After ordering, our waitress had not been to our table in one hour (now there 1 hour and 40 minutes) we asked the manager(?) at the front reception to see if perhaps the waitress accidentally forgot to put our order in (we had now been there 1 hour and 40 minutes (literally) and had a two year old with us which was now well past their dinner time so...asked if that could be checked on. Never heard from the manager (and watched them standing in the front talking) still no waitress. THEN we waited for 15 more minutes while we watched our food under the heat lamps (we knew it was ours as we had 6:15 reservations and were now the very the last people sitting in the restaurant). In fact, the manager NEVER checked back, came to our table nor apologized. Wow. FINALLY we were served...and boy was it weird. The cook came out as the waitress served the plates and as we sat in silence he started a very uncomfortable banter ranting at us and said that he knew the food was bad but that he wasn’t perfect in a very open and unique way. And he was right. We had cold dry steaks very raw in the middle, burnt ends with wilted lettuce on the side now shriveled to the size of silver dollars with cold ‘baked’ potatoes underdone, a burnt ‘gourmet’ hamburger and scalding hot Mac and cheese (from a box) for the two year old. The worst part was the additude of the manager. It was abundantly clear they had no care or concern for any of their customers. We were both gracious and kind, and even tactful. We are heavy tippers, and have even helped bus tables for an overworked staff once as we traveled; but this was by far globally, the worst most humiliating experience with food and hospitality we have ever had. Side note: We should not have paid nor tipped, but we...

We have been to this restaurant many times and it has always been a great experience. We brought our friends here tonight and had our first bad experience. But it was really bad. First our reservation was crossed out so we got seated way in the back by the old cook station. Then our waitress took forever to bring our drinks(my friend ordered a grasshopper and it was half melted when it got to our table). Then our food took over and hour and that was after we had already asked for our drinks because it took like 30 minutes to get them. Once the food did come it came out in multiple stages probably 15 -20 minutes apart. Our friends were almost done with their food before we even got ours. Steaks were not cooked correctly and had to be sent back. Also ordered shrimp with the meals and one set didn't come out until we were all done eating for at least 10 minutes. I had to get up three different times to ask for things because the waitress never came back. Waitress never came back to ask if we wanted more drinks. My friends had a terrible impression especially since we had told them how good the place was. The waitress Never apologized for how terrible the service was or offered to make anything right which is basically why I am writing this review. I can forgive them having an off night if the waitress had acted like she cared but she didnt. If this was my first time coming here I wouldn't go back. I'm sure our friends won't. The only reason we will go back is because we have had prior experience which was good. I wanted management to know so they can correct the problem. If this kind of service continues they will definitely ...
