Took the guys for lunch yesterday at the new location on Stuart and Wilson. Very very nice ambiance. Seems a little more upscale than the original lots of lights and shiny decor. Enjoyed it very much. It was an early lunch about 1130ish and we kinda had the place to ourselves. The guys had bfast. Eggs bacon sausage pancakes and French toast. I've had the bfast but not lunch so I changed it up. Had the carne guisada combo. Carne guisada, rice , salad , two beef enchiladas, charro beans and a tortilla. Absolutely delicious. Carne guisada had great flavor, could have been just a tad more tender but it was good. Enchiladas were delicious. There was a different blend of chili sauce in there that I enjoyed. Charro beans were actually pretty ok. I'm not a huge fan as I have a preference to smashed or refried, which I will ask for next time I go, but these weren't bad. The flour tortilla was very tiny but that's ok cause I don't think it was home-made anyway. All in all a good visit. Definitely be back to try something else. Looks like the key here is to show...
Read moreI’m hoping the owner see this and takes notes. Gorgeous place. Very nice aesthetically. Drinks are delicious. Full stop. I Do Not Want to hear foo fighters or watch sports when I come to his place. I’ve been here 4 times. Every time, the music is totally off, once when I went in the evening the playlist changed promptly at 9 in the evening to something not much better and the volume was turned up. Over the crowd, music, and distracting sports television I couldn’t enjoy my meal. A different time I went in about 2:30 to have some lunch and cocktails with my girlfriend. This time foo fighters was still playing (I like foo fighters) and the bros watching sports at the bar and partially blocking the entrance was a little rowdy and loud. I like this place but with the location, the bad playlists, and the never ending barrage of sports, this location is going to turn into a haven for bar rats in a matter of months. I hope things change for better at this location because the potential is there. Is it being fully utilized?...
Read moreWe went to this restaurant after a concert in Harlingen, just planning to order some food to-go. From the moment we arrived, the waiter who attended us was rude and unnecessarily arrogant. Even though we clearly stated from the beginning that we were not ordering any alcoholic drinks, he still insisted on asking for IDs, which made no sense in that context.
What bothered us the most is that my girlfriend presented her Mexican ID (she is legally in the U.S. with a visa), and he dismissed it in a very rude way, with no intention of being respectful or explaining the situation politely. His attitude felt discriminatory and very unprofessional.
This is not how customers should be treated, especially when you’re simply trying to order takeout. The experience was very unpleasant, and honestly, we won’t be coming back. There are plenty of other places in the Valley with better service and more...
