Go Fish Marina Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Princeton

Wow... beyond disappointed and boggled at how my first experience at Go Fish Marina Bar & Grill in Princeton Iowa went this afternoon. Went there for lunch for the first time ever and got treated horribly by the women owner. We ordered a smoked salmon salad they had on the menu and when it was brought out we tried it and weren't that happy with it. (Which happens allll the time at restaurants) When we asked (very politely keep in mind) if we could possibly just switch it out for wrap or something she was so rude. (Usually at a good restaurant with good morals when you say you aren't happy with something, they offer to fix it right away, because any good business owner wants a satisfied customer right? well wrong apparently ) She told us there's no way it's coming off the bill and if we want something else we have to pay for that as well. She said with such a nasty condescending attitude "Well it's cold because it is a salad you know" when I told her okay she didn't need to be so rude her reply was "Well idk what you expect when you order a salad, idk how you want me to fix it". She also then proceeded to say, "I've been to tons of restaurants and when I get something I don't like I just don't order it again". Which is fine, so be it. When we said we shouldn't have to pay for something we didn't even touch she then threatened to call the cops immediately. Which of course we didn't want, and was such an over the top thing for her to say. We weren't looking for a free meal or anything just to switch it out, or anything to make us feel like a valued customer. Even an explanation such as "We don't do refunds unfortunately" Just a friendly explanation to help us understand. But instead we were treated as an inconvenience to her day. So we paid the whole bill in full and on our way out she didn't like our attitudes and said "good luck in life". Moral of the story I will never be back to a restaurant where they care so little about their customers and treat them with so much disrespect.

Loved the atmosphere of this riverbank bar and grill. We were there for lunch on a Sunday and it was busy enough, but we didn't wait for a table. Our waitress did her job, but I never saw her smile and her face read that she wanted to be anywhere but there. My biggest disappointment was the food. My boyfriend had been to Go Fish prior to my visit and had enjoyed the pork tenderloin sandwich. I had even looked online at pictures patrons had posted of this s.andwich. When I ordered it, I noticed the menu stated that it was served on Texas Toast... that was different, but I wanted to try it anyway. It was not a breaded pork cutlet like the online pics and boyfriend suggested. It was a breaded butterfly porkchop on regular white bread. The chop was very dry and the bread was soggy and fell apart as I tried to eat the sandwich. But my boyfriend had the blackened shrimp wrap and said it was delicious. My daughter had the "keep it simple burger" and said it was ok. The french fries were great! I also tried to order from their specialty drink menu and they were out of ingredients and unable to make the drink. I'll will go back and try it again, but I will warn anyone I recommend to stay away from the pork...

(5/29/22) Really want to spend time with my teenage grandson and he loves Cheese burgers & decided on Go Fish. We arrived & were told it would be 1-2 wait for our food, (1:20) we got seated & sit for about 25 minutes to order drinks another 25 minutes to get them! then another 35 minutes to order food. People around us were also waiting & had ordered before we arrived, around 2:30 they finally got their food but was not all correct, the lady seated told me their order had just went in at 2:00, I was noticing others coming in a 1/2hr ago were getting their food, a family next to us left because they had waited past 2hrs, now the tables were done & leaving & still we do not have our order so I ask & our waitress also had not turned our order in till 3:17 "WHAT" so now it is 3:52 AND STILL NO FOOD, we give up & left, was told the girl hostess it was a mistake! a mistake to how many? food trays were going to wrong tables, not the right orders, not turning in orders, several people leaving, so on the way home we stopped & got our order in 20 minutes & it was great, and also another family had also given up on the wait at Go Fish, we knew a 1-2hr wait but why so...
