We stopped for lunch on a Sunday afternoon (1:45pm), Upon arrival restaurant was not busy, had "immediate" seating. Hostess came back and forth a few times asking us to wait. When she was ready to seat us she grabbed menus and walked away while talking with one if the servers. She never indicated that we were to follow her until the server said something to her.

Kids eat free on Sundays which was a nice perk we weren't aware of. That being said, my son had the chicken strips and waffle fries ... the strips were SUPER hard (over cooked) and dry...his poor loose teeth 6yo mouth couldn't bite them...had to be cut. Was a good size portion of meat, but ratio of meat to waffle fries was disproportionate to the amount of waffle fries.

Adult entrees ordered were the BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger and BW Pot Roast. Pot Roast had great flavor but had obviously been microwaved - fried pieces of meat and cold/hot spots. Was a HUGE portion of meat. Taters were yummy; gravy couldn't have been from scratch - overly salty and tasted fake. Corn bread was delicious but cold...like cooler/refrigerator cold. Again meat to sides serving sizes were disproportionate - though not a bad thing.

BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger (1/2 lb size) was cooked to order. Served with pre-packaged kettle chips; could upgrade to waffle fries or sweet potato fries (no regular fry options) for an up-charge. Burger was great!

Felt it was a bit over priced (burger and chips $14.00 - should have had fries at that price). Roast dinner also $14.00. Iced Tea and coke were $2.99 each but with refills. Kids eat free was a nice surprise.

Server was sweet, but slow and kept apologizing for forgetting stuff. Once we were ready to leave we had to wait quite some time to pay.

Restaurant appeared clean but we had flies bothering us at our table...difficult to avoid in MN in August.

I've been to all three BW Grill locations and actually received best food and service at London...

We stopped here for lunch on on a Saturday on the way home from Duluth. We were the only ones in there…

We had the ‘Handcrafted’ Strawberry Lemonade which tasted one step above MinuteMade with strawberry syrup dumped in it.

For entrées we had the Wild Rice Melt + Onion Rings, the Cajun Jambalaya Skillet, and the Salmon Sandwich + Sweet Potato Fries. The Wild Rice Melt was like 1/5, there was very minimal flavor to it in general… even with the cranberries smothered on it. I didn’t even finish half of it. The Onion Rings weren’t good at all, the breading was super hard and the was the kind that crumbles all over, not the quality kind that melts in your mouth. They definitely are not worth the extra $3 they charge you for them. The Cajun Jambalaya Skillet was also like 1/5. It was more like canned tomato soup with sausage and vegetables in it on a bed of rice than it was actual Jambalaya. There were also big cherry tomatoes dropped in it which isn’t typical for Jambalaya, but also just tasted bad. There was no Cajun flavor to it at all. The Salmon Sandwich was 2.5/5, very average. The Sweet Potato Fries were excellent though, 5/5 even though they tasted like they were frozen and reheated.

We had the Roasted Brussel Sprouts & Bacon as an appetizer and those were actually really, really good too; 4.5/5. They were not crispy, but the flavor was great.

The service was good. Overall the food tasted like Applebee’s quality (frozen & reheated.. not fresh) & we probably wouldn’t eat...

We made a reservation for 8 one week ahead of time because we worried we wouldn’t get a table on a holiday weekend. We came up from the cities for a ski weekend with another family so our total party was three kids under ten and five adults. We ordered prime rib which we were told was fresh (it was day old we were told by the manager later), champagne chicken pasta (which they voluntarily remade before the first plate even made it to the table because it was “brown” but it still came out inedible), three little kid meals which were about as good as expected (and should have been free because it was Sunday we learned on the inside of their bathroom stall), a prime rib dip which was good, tenderloin tips which were good. The waitress was extremely slow, unresponsive, forgetful. The manager was clueless, agreeing to remove the terrible items from the bill and then failing to do so, leaving it to the server to deliver bills we didn’t expect to pay. I understand times are tough, but we are a group of people who happily pay for good food, many drinks, and generously tip servers. This was a situation we could not overcome. Ultimately we were billed for less drinks than we wanted, more terrible food than we could stomach, and three kids meals that should have been unexpectedly free. Do not recommend. We won’t be back. Also, the signature cocktails were disgusting. We were warned in the parking lot by another patron but decided to give it a go....

The service was very slow even though the restaurant was not busy. It took almost 45 minutes between ordering the food and when the meal came.. One of our party ordered a Bison burger rare and it came well done and cold. It got sent back and the second time it came oit hot and juicy with hot sweet potato fries. Most of the food was cold except for the person who ordered a pot pie which was steaming hot. The kitchen probably cooked everthing at the same time and left the other plated items waiting for the pot pie to finish baking. The chicken burger came overcooked and dry as well as cooled off. After the meal was finished, we had to wait more than 15 minutes before getting another waiter to find our waitet and get a check. The food was not very flavorful either with the exception of a Blueberry Basil Coleslaw which was excellent in flavor, texture and freshness. Maybe we went to the restaurant on an off night. Based on our experience, we do not recommend going to Black Woods at thos location.
