Everything else about the Pryor Braumās is alright, but more often than not they canāt seem to make a decent milkshake to save their lives. 3 years now and Iāve only had a handful that would qualify as a milkshake. 9/10 are either unmixed scoops of ice cream sitting in a drop of milk, or thereās an abundance of milk and theyāve apparently forgotten to add the ice cream. Last weekās venture they were finally mixed! Legitimate milkshakes! But the dairy was spoiled. Bittersweet moment for the kids and I in ever since of the expression. When they get it right itās one of the best shakes on earth. The kind that makes you want to jump in a pool of the stuff and drink your way out. But those treasured dairy filled dreams in a cup only come around once in a season it would seem. Todayās order of 1 medium choc shake and 2 jr choc shakes came out as 1 medium cup of slightly stirred ice cream sitting in milk, 1 jr cup of the same, and one jr cup of choc milk with a couple pea size drops of cream chunks. Workers are friendly, nothing against them besides this 3 year war theyāve waged on my chocolate milkshake cravings. Itās been a long fight. Hard drawn out bouts of disappointment sprinkled with moments of ecstasy that give my spirit just enough hope to press on and keep coming back for more. I havenāt hated and loved an establishment this much since my 8 year stint...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSlow as molasses! Only had ONE person on the ice cream line during the busy Sunday lunch hour. During my 20 minute wait in line to order my shake and contemplating asking that my spot be saved so I could go to the restroom, a customer came to the line to complain about the mess of a bathroom they had. So I waited to āgoā when I got my shake to the car and went back in. The āmessā in the bathroom was picked up so things looked good. But, upon washing my hands lo and behold no paper towels could be found. I donāt know what has happened to all the Braumās Ice Cream & Dairy Stores, but I have not been to one in the last 10 years that has not been a DUMP with flies everywhere and employees who lallygag and have ZERO customer service. I used to love Braumās and always looked forward to going to one the first chance I get when driving from MO to Texas. But I think Iām done. Especially since they quit making vanilla sodas. Good bye Braumās! Itās been a long slow death, but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBraum's brings back so many fond memories over the years. There used to be a location near my grandmother's house in Farmers Branch, TX, where I lived getting their fresh food, milk, and ice cream.
Their hot food choices are good, too. Good hamburgers, some of my favorite fries, and breakfasts that I made stops especially for. Their breakfast burritos had bite, make with sausage and eggs, hash browns, and jalapeƱos. And did I mention the milk? Hey, many places give you milk, it's in a half-pint carton, or a pint, if you're lucky. Braum's? You get a soda cup full of milk, ice cold and delicious.
This location is very good. They have a variety of fresh foods, packaged meats, produce, dairy, ice cream, yogurt, custard, lemonade, tea, etc. If you haven't stopped, give it a go. If you have, go again!
It's a shame they aren't in mid-Missouri, but we have some pretty good dairy products here, too. Thanks, Braum's employees. Y'all...
