We stopped here on a Thursday for dinner en route to the Metroplex. It's a cool spot with a nice vibe. Definitely get the small town experience seeing the neighbors interact, but still get the same warm welcome as travelers. The food was great. We started with the stuffed jalapenos and I had the hamburger steak with the cowboy potato and green beans while my partner went with the chicken fried steak with cowboy potato and corn. Everything was fresh and had home-cooked nostalgic flavors. The toast especially had those childhood memories coming back, tasted like grandma used to make. We just had water because the travel but they do have a full bar. The only issue we had was with service. The waitress was very new and seemed flustered as it got busier. The menu says the entrees come with two sides, but we were charged for an extra side on each plate for the second side. Overall recommend the stop and it's worth getting off 287 into downtown, just check the ticket.

Who would have thought that in this tiny country town that one would find such a great little restaurant! We walked in and it was crowded with two very large parties going on at the same time. The waitress told us about seating upstairs so upstairs we went thinking we were in for a long wait. But no, she came up directly to take our drink orders and our food order after she brought our drinks up to us. We. Waited but not overly long. My husband’s mushroom burger was delicious (he said) and the onion rings were perfect (yes I tried it). My steak quesadilla was also delicious and all was reasonably priced

LOVED this place! This was one of those little gems that you discover in small towns. Local owned, genuinely friendly service, and welcoming. Very clean and quaint, still has the old style bar from long ago. "Morinda" (sp) our waitress was great! Helpful, friendly knowledgeable, great customer service skills. My Ribeye was super delicious and cooked to perfection. The Poppers were yummy. My son loved his bacon cheeseburger and my husband had the chicken salad which , we thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend this Restaurant! Hopefully our travels will bring us back this way again.

BAD VIBE & MAJOR NEGATIVE ENERGY!!!!! It’s a very cold place and I’m not talking about temperature….we were passing through coming from Colorado and stopped to get a hotel and eat. We went in and the waitress said sit anywhere so we sit at a table for 2 because that’s all we were…she said that’s the bar side I side we can move the only other thing available was 2 tables for 8 she said no that’s ok…the bartender never waited on us she knew we were there but was flirting with 2 guys sitting at the bar. Finally, we get waited on by the one waitress that said sit anywhere…but only to be told the kitchen is closed it’s 8:45 pm… I repeat it has a ā€œBAD VIBE and NEGATIVE ENERGYā€the people were not friendly!! I don’t care what food reviews it may or may not get it will definitely not get our business! Customer Service is just as important. I do not...
