This visit was our second family get together in three months and an even bigger disappointment than the first visit. On both occasions we made reservations in advance and on both occasions we arrived to find no table or accommodation made for our reservation. This time, we actually were eventually sat at 2 round tables four our party of 9 despite having reservations. This resulted in 2 of our guests being sat in the cracks joining our table and uncomfortable seating for all.
On both visits, we waited more than 20 minutes beyond our reservation for seating and then a long time for our food. On the first visit, after an hour of waiting 3 guests didn't receive their food and several other orders were wrong. On this last visit we waited over an hour and a half before receive our food. The food we did receive was average at best and some of it was gross. The onion rings, in particular, were under cooked and tasted more like beer than beer battered onion rings.
Despite the protracted wait no comp or other accommodation was offered and our waitress actually said "I'm sorry about your wait but I can’t make them cook any faster. Beyond this our waitress was inattentive for the majority of the stay and even said, "I'm sorry. I'll have to come back to your table because If I don't check the other tables they will think I abandoned them."
I wish I could blame the party size for the poor service but I can’t. A table of two that came after us actually left before receiving their food and if we weren't a gathering I'm sure many of us would have left as well.
I'm not sure what exactly is the disconnect causing the poor service and food is but for a typical pub atmosphere but nothing special this place needs to step up it's game or call it quits. It's unlikely we will give it...
Read moreI was in Quincy to check on my daughter who had a serious health issue. While I was at the hospital, a couple of employees at O'Shea's stopped by to check on her and explained that my daughter had worked at O'Shea's until she had to quit due to difficulties standing on her feet for any length of time. The next day I decided to have lunch at O'Shea's so I could speak to everyone and give all of them an update on my daughters condition. I was greeted with hugs and expression of concern for my daughter by everyone there. When I got ready to pay for my meal, I was told that I didn't owe them anything. The five stars I'm giving isn't just for the great meal I had but also for the employees and management of O'Shea's. If you're ever in Quincy, I highly recommend that you eat there and, tell them Brandy's...
Read moreAutomatic -1 atmosphere star for unmuted FOX News. Another -1 for rowdy drunk table. Server was okay but didn't know what came with the daily special and only checked on us once. Kitchen was slow for what we ordered. Horseshoe burger patties were obviously from frozen. Cheese sauce was the bright yellow salty artificial junk they serve with gas station nachos. Onion rings were more like cakey batter rings; the onions were at least cut thick but the final product had a layer of bready-thick batter that made the rings inedible. Turkey dinner special seemed to go over well, and at least the stuffing/dressing appeared to have been homemade with leftover rye bread from the extensive options of kitchen sandwiches that come on rye. Spicy sauced chicken sandwich was okay. Spent $70...
