Starting with the parking, it’s located in the mountain and the parking is across the road, my uncle and I are handicap so attempted to look for a handicap accessible spot closer to the restaurant, as we drive up the hill, the waiter Mark comes out, we tell him our situation and he immediately accommodates us with a parking which seemed for employees, he assists us into the restaurant and quickly got us into a great comfortable mood, telling jokes, giving tips and pointers on the area for our trip and so on. Mark is actually American from NY (my home) and spoke perfect Spanish. The view on the mountain down into the Island was breathtaking!! The drinks were phenomenal, I first had a mojito which was amazing then I had to try their famous sangria which was THE BEST sangria I’ve ever had!! The food was mouth watering, we had the nuggets de mero (grouper), which is their second BEST menu item, mofongo de carne frita, mofongo de pollo, mofongo de vegetales, stuffed platano cups and flan for dessert. EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING!!!!! I went in starving and with a headache and needed some coffee, unfortunately they don’t serve coffee, but Mark assured me after having the sangria I’ll forget all about how “hangry” I was, he was right!!!!!! Love love love Richie’s and will definitely visit again on my next trip to Puerto Rico!! Thank you Mark!! -Olga...
Read moreWow -- this place was next level awful! If I could give it 0 stars in each category, I would.
Just got back from paying $206, including "mandatory" 16% gratuity, for 4 entrees and 4 drinks (2 adult, 2 child). It was a chore to even be seated, as multiple waitstaff walked by us before acknowledging our presence. What saved us was that another family, out of desperation, was forced to walk to the front to pay. This in turn forced the server to take their money and "see" us. In retrospect, this was the first red flag.
3 entrees finally arrived, but without silverware for 5 min. (Note that silverware had to be requested, in contrast to every other restaurant I've been to in the world.) We requested ice water, which arrived after 2 requests and a 30-45 min wait. The fourth entree arrived, with no explanation, after 2 requests and was not as billled on the menu. ("Stuffed" grouper served covered in marinara and cheese with 3 sad formerly frozen shrimp.)
The complaints are too numerous to list here; but, please save your money. The waitstaff came across and feeling entitled to our tip, despite not doing the most basic elements of meal service. We felt poorly treated and this has been a theme on Puerto Rico trip this week: "overcharged and underserved" seems to be the Puerto...
Read moreThe only thing good about this place is the view and the bottled water. We got here at 6:00 and we told it would be a 20-30 minute wait, however we didn’t get seated until 7:10pm. There was no hotness here and the waitress is the only who is seating people and serving food at the same time. The waitress didn’t come around until 7:33pm to take our drink orders. When we ordered a refill for the drink, it was over an hour before it was given to us, but during that time it was just sitting at the bar melting. The food didn’t come out until 8:30pm and someone at my table didn’t get their food until 9:09pm. The food here is absolutely disgusting. Everything on the appetizer sampler platter was over cooked(burnt) and cooked in old oil. It was so greasy and the only flavor anything had was oil. The food was so overpriced and dry. Nothing was cooked how we asked it to be (asked for the steak to be well done and it was red and bloody). Everything lacked flavor. There was also a stray dog that walks around the table and sat down next to chairs to beg for food. The bathrooms are disgustingly gross and the floor is flooded in there. I would never come back here again. It was a waste of time and a bigger...
