The Creekside Mill — Restaurant in Raeford

Very cool location and good service. My main gripes are with the menu and food. I ordered the Country Fried Steak ($23 btw). Comes with a super basic side salad that tasted and looked like the kind that’s store-bought in a bag. Food came, aptly presented. The CF steak was tender and well seasoned but the “white” gravy didn’t look fresh and sort of stuck to it. The side of “mashed potatoes” were so disappointing. Someone essentially baked a potato, cut it in half and stuck it in a ramekin. No seasoning, garnish or gravy whatsoever, nothing. Just chunks of potato. The green beans were okay. This was NOT worth the $23 price point, I wouldn’t pay more than $17 for that meal. There are “secret” dessert items not found on the menu. Our server told us the options and we chose the cookie butter banana pie. Little did we know (until we received the check and after we ate the pie) that it was $11 a slice! That’s almost $90 for a pie! The price isn’t even on the menu, so we felt this was misleading and somewhat dishonest. Overall I would come back to try the other menu items and for the service/location, but the food, menu and pricing issues cannot...

Last night my husband and I came in for dinner and pumkin beer!! It took about 10 minutes of us standing at the front door waiting for a staff member to seat us in a dead resturant (the bartender was to busy looking down at something with no customers at her bar to even say hi).

When we got seated the service started out great. She grabbed our drinks quick and took out app order quickly. We got the famous mozzy squares that I have not stopped talking about since I ate them and then we split a smash burger for dinner which was also really good, bigger than I expected, no complaints here!! Unfortunately, they were out of the dessert we ordered (because its so good) we will just have to come back to try! The service did go downhill once we let the server know we were splitting the burger (because the mozzy squares were so filling)!

I would highly recommend coming and grabbing a bite to eat, just make sure to order your own meal or get to go so the server doesn't devolpe a attitude!

Overall great food and atmosphere, but...

Beware the management argues with guests when you are unhappy with a dish.

The food is not terrible but has surprises. I was steered to the green beans because the collards were not ready. And was not informed that there were other ingredients included to include meats . Also very heavily peppered and a spice that did not agree with my stomach.

Could be really good to someone but probably not the best to market them as just a side greenbeens. If that's not what is in the bowl they give you.

Ultimately was asked to not return becaise of another dish that was not like.

Management team needs some work on how to treat customers the guy with the sf group hat was friendly and pleasent. The female is a loose cannon who WILL be right about everything or just argue with you until you conceded.

If this happens remember to tip your waitress not her fault the manager is...
