Update from 3 stars to 1 star, changed owners again, bagels are basically the same , only thing worth getting. DO NOT BUY A DELI SANDWICH! HUGE RIPOFF. I order a ham and cheese on a roll with mayo and a roast beef on a hero with tomato and mayo. I get a single slice if ham on a roll with a single slice of cheese and no mayo, a HOT Roast beef sandwich???? With bacon and horseradish...... what in the twilight zone is going on in that kitchen?? I'm from NY, been here for 5 years, I've never ever had a deli experience this poor. To top it off I paid 19$ for both of them.
Only good thing is they gave me my money back but I will never ever get a sandwich from this place ever again.
New York should sue them for using their likeness
Update- from 5 to 3 stars , changed owners of something , but it's not the same. Really disappointed to be honest. Nothing about this deli is NY anymore besides the name. Where's Lucille? Who TF is Andy
Just moved to the area from NYC and this place is like an oasis in a desert of mediocre southern italian deli. Hands down best breakfast and sandwiches around. Bagels taste like home and the staff made me feel like I was back in Queens. They got themselves a customer for life. A must stop for any NYer in...
Read moreVery good bagels and egg sandwiches. Pretty close to Long Island / New York style. The problem is the ordering system and people working the register. Their register is some type a computer screen and it takes a very long time to explain your order to the cashier, especially if you have some customizations such as "crispy bacon" or "light on the cream cheese". This slow ordering system causes all types of back ups and the line can be very long and slow moving. Computers usually speed things up. In this case, it slows things down. They need more than one active register and/or a quicker system such as paper and pencil. The people working the register are also not deli pros and it shows in their attitude and service. They need some spring in their steps and some sense of professionalism and urgency. The good news is the food has been great the few times I have gone. The girl working the grill was all business and knew how to cook...
Read moreThey confirmed they donât even have normal baconâ just turkey bacon. I think it should be a crime to call yourself New York Bagel and not have regular bacon!!!
I appreciate the convenience of this location, but I wonât return. I have noticed a decline in quality since the store changed ownership.
The bagels now have a subpar texture and are poorly seasoned and unevenly toasted. The portions of cheese and egg in the sandwiches are minimal, and the bacon tastes offâl think its turkey bacon, which is not what I expect.
Additionally, the dynamic between the son and father in the store is uncomfortable. The older man never acknowledges me but comes out of the kitchen to speak rudely to his son. Vibes are off.
Also the everything bagels are topped with oats, which are overpowering and not typical of New York bagels.
For those seeking an authentic NY bagel, I would recommend driving to Falls of...
