The Goat — Restaurant in Raleigh

I've been going to this dive bar for almost 15 years, and I still enjoy the vibe which is why I've continued to patron this place. It's very small and somewhat run-down looking, but that's what gives the place character! They have great bartenders and drink specials. There's no place to order food, except for maybe a bag of nuts or chips behind the bar. The patrons are a motley crew of all different types and ages. When it's busy, don't plan on finding a seat. They have some arcade games and even regular board games behind the bar, and there's a smoking area that happens to be right out the front. Although the bathrooms can get very dirty on the weekends. This place caters to the in college/post college group, so keep this in mind going. I felt like I was babysitting at times. Drink specials were great. The dance floor was disgusting and sticky, I felt like I was at a Frat house. Too much cheap liquor/beer combined with individuals whom are just discovering their drinking abilities and someone is bound to get sick, which totally happened while I was there, shutting down one of the rest rooms and unleashing an odor so strong, your only reaction was to cover your nose/mouth and run for the exit. Buddy invited me out for a drink, and picked this bar, and wow I was impressed. Definition of a GOOD dive bar. Great liquor selection and decor. Doug was behind the bar handling business, while also making sure everyone was having a great time with good Convo and quick service. Once it got later the bar became packed, and Doug STILL was handling business! They also have free hot dogs which were surprisingly good, but with free, it's easy to beat expectations lol

I def can see this becoming a go to spot...
