Mi Cocina restaurant needs the owner to please follow up on a major complaint. I am so disgusted how I was so rudely addressed by an elderly woman. I have tried on numerous occasions to speak to the owner. I have left my name phone number and still no response. I don't believe everyone that works there is aware of the incident that happened to me. I know customer service is so important. Apparently not that evening. It initially started when I did a phone order. An elderly lady took my order and repeated my order back to me precisely. I told her perfect amazing job she thanked me. My husband went in we purchased the food and left. I experienced cold chile rellenos they weren't heated up long enough and the beans were sour. I was already leaving out of town so I made a phone call. The same lady that took my order answered the phone and this time was not so happy to hear my complaint about the cold food in the sour beans. She told me it was impossible and I told her I needed to speak to him manager. And she told me she was a manager I then asked for the owner's name and she said why don't you go down to gilberto's down the street if you don't like our food. I cannot believe how she addressed me very rudely. I have been calling daily to speak to the owner and nobody will give me his name or her name. I would like the owner to please call me back regarding the situation. That is very rude to tell a patron to go elsewhere down the street to another taco shop because they're not happy with their food that is horrible because I think that your reputation there should be very important and I'm still upset and I still like the owner to call me I need the owner to please respond to this post so I can communicate with you your management team I believe his name is nacho would not help me and would not address the situation with the older lady I would like the owner to call me back please so please respond to this post and let me know when you're available thank you very much have...
Read moreThis is a gem in small town Southern California. The food was exceptionally yummy and was affordable too.
The restaurant is a little more authentic than one might like - there either isn't any A/C or it was turned off when we were there, so it was a little warm inside but it was the perfect temperature outside and it wasn't uncomfortable inside, just a little stuffy.
And the food was wonderful. The best Carnitas I've had in years.
The restaurant had a steady flow of locals eating in or grabbing takeout orders, which is always a good sign. If you live near Anza, are passing through, or are up for a special trip, you won't be disappointed.
Highly recommended.
Still. (Updated months after original review)

Google gives me 5 points when I update this review. I dunno what those points are worth but I still love this restaurant so I keep updating this review each time it asks me to. If the standard does ever drop, I'll tell you, but I've never had a bad meal here. Heck, I've never had just a good meal here - they're always great.
Seriously, if you ever pass through Anza, stop at La Cocina even if you have to get it to go. You...
