I had been wanting some tasso fried beef along with all the yummy trimmings that usually come along with the meal. Unfortunately many times I called they are always out. Instead of doing Uber eats I opted to Uber and sit in to eat at least rice & beans, sauce and spicy coleslaw. Once there I was looked at as if I were out of place. Since I had called ahead I already knew that they had ran out of the tasso. Once I received my meal sauce was not up to par and rice was not even like warm. Brought it up to the counter to ask if it may be warmed up waited about 15 mins or more and still no food. What intrigued me the most was how they hide effortlessly what is behind the curtain. I donāt believe they have a kitchen or place must be in rumbles to have to go to such extent to cover mysteriously as they travel in and out the ākitchenā. Through it all i never got my food for I left due to the long delay to warm up some rice and how secretive they were from whatās behind the curtain made me even more skeptical. Although no longer near to Somerville to visit Highland Cuisine it is hands down my favorite place to get Hatian Cuisine. If possible I would of given Myrahs...

I ordered chicken with rice and beans and she disappeared behind the curtain. Reviewers complained that it took 20 minutes and mine might have, but I viewed that as cooked fresh. When I got home and opened the container there was a lot of food. I asked if it was gluten free (which my wife requires) but I'm not sure we connected on that. My wife and I shared it. Rice and beans done right. And well seasoned moist chicken with lettuce and a fresh tomato slice. I thought the fried things were plantains but maybe is was tasso. It came with some sauce on the side which might have been the highlight but my wife said it tasted very spicy so I just passed. I enjoyed it for a change and although not fancy it tasted fresh and I felt like I shared authentic food. I'll definately go back and try other things after I brush up...
Read moreI ate from here a few months ago only because of a friend that wanted me to go support her friend. I was extremely disappointed not a good experience. Even more disappointed because this is the only Caribbean restaurant in that area. I'd rather drive into Boston to get better quality service and food. There was no menu they were upset with me because I asked for one they were extremely rude and unprofessional. The food did not taste good, it was a waste of my time going there and that even larger waste of my money, the only positive thing that I can say is that the portion size was very generous but the food did not taste good. My suggestion for the business owner and employees is to be polite do your customers treat them with respect. The reputation of a business is dépendent of the customers experience. I unfortunately will not come back to support this poorly run establishment. Good luck to the future of...
