October 10, 2022 - Road trip to Rangeley area, to enjoy the autumn colors . . . Glad that my wife researched that Parkside & Main would be open on Indigenous People Day!
So glad we stopped in for lunch! A busy place with a “ wait”, so we started with an Octoberfest beer at the bar! Nice ambiance, if it wasn’t so cold, we’d enjoy patio seating in the back over looking Rangeley Lake. After 10 minutes, our name was called for a table.
Brittany our server, handed us menus. . . then told us about their specials, and Clam Chowder was the Soup of the Day. I enjoy sampling clam chowder across New England . . . of course I tried a bowl! Excellent consistency, fair amount of clams to potatoes ratio! Not thick as peanut butter, but a delicious mix of onions, and butter broth. . . in my top 3 now!
My wife enjoyed her fish tacos, which were excellent! I ordered their fish & chips, with Cole slaw. . . Very good, I prefer a mildly sweet cole slaw, which was very good! Too full for their desserts.
Their menu offers a variety of items:
Burgers Sandwiches Salads Blue plate specials Appetizers ( pub style) Seafood choices Soups ( clam chowder is award winner)
Note: Good pub style food, not really a fancy dinner style restaurant! That’s OK !
I’d rate this restaurant a solid 4.7 rating! The service is good (Thanks Brittany), ambiance is a busy/fun pub feel, and the food is delicious! Thanks to owner Kash Haly! I’ve read that the staff is “ family friendly”. . . often closing on special occasions to celebrate staff graduations, weddings, birthdays, and funerals ! Nice to hear about their support & love for each other!❤️

Read moreTerrific menu. Something to please the "I wanna burger" guest as well as, the "I want something special" guest. Plenty of classics in the appetizers (chicken wings, mozzarella sticks) but also Poutine, a decadent luscious mix of fries, cheese, and gravy. Salads follow the same way--classic greens, but the roasted beet and goat cheese is a stand-out. Ask what the "chowdah" of the day is. Fresh made, the creamy base is sublime, perfectly balanced that coats the spoon--no thick glop or wateryness. The halibut chowder was generous with fish. The potatoes finely chopped, a few minced onions to add a subtle sweetness. The burgers are zaftig events and, again, there are standards with cheddar, and unique with blue cheese crumble. Dinner offerings follow suit, with steak, fish, and chicken plates, but each with a unique touch but yet grounded in the classics. Fish tacos were excellent, crispy fried fish, warmed flour tortillas, and a great topping that was both moist and crunchy.. If you're in Rangeley, definitely put Parkside & Main in your...
Read moreThe food was very good. However the service by our waitress, Celeste, was terrible. We waited for over an hour and still had not received our food even through she came out several times to tell us it was coming right out. Then a woman who identified herself as the sister of the owner told us the kitchen never received our order and that it was going to take another 15 minutes because they just started working on it. Now I understand that restaurants are short staffed at this time, but it seems like it was Celeste’s job to make sure the kitchen had gotten our order. When the sister of the owner took over working on our order she was very pleasant and kindly told us the problem and worked to fix the problem. After the meal we told the waitress that we were not happy with her service and the waitress yelled at us that it was not her problem, she had done her job, and it was our fault because we were not...
