This place is a gem! We stopped here on our way back from Chicago thinking it was just your average small town cafe but it is so much more. First off, the service was wonderful. Our waitress was so friendly and patient with us while we tried to figure out what to order from such an extensive and delicious looking menu. I ended up ordering the french toast on their signature cinnamon bread and it was AMAZING. So good that we bought a loaf of it to go. My son ordered tacos and was also very impressed with the presentation and thoughtfulness that went into putting them together. We definitely will be stopping here the next time we drive to Chicago. My only critique is the cashier wasn't very friendly and seemed annoyed that we lingered a after paying for our food to check out the treats they had for sale out front. In fact I may have bought some fudge if she hadn't made me feel so uncomfortable about still being there. She didn't even smile at us or say thank you. She did look young though so maybe she just doesn't have much customer service experience. I was also impressed by the modern booths. Again, this is the sort of place that usually has outdated 90s seating but their booths looked brand new and made for a...

Formerly one of my favorites, this restaurant has really slipped. When I visited last summer, I was disappointed with the overcooked chicken meal. Last night I was in the area so decided to order a half mixed chicken to go. I could tell they were busy because my first two calls were unanswered. My third call was answered and I was advised I would be helped in a few minutes. The few minutes turned into 6:14 minutes before an employee hung up the phone. I could hear conversations and even hollered HELLO a few times, but received no response. I considered getting my chicken from KFC but called The Brothers again. When the call was answered and I explained what had happened, the reply was, "Well, what do you want to order, dear" a very condescending question. When I arrived a few minutes beyond the time suggested by the employee, there was difficulty finding my order an as I stepped aside, I witnessed the next guest experiencing the same thing. Another irritation is that the tip screen begins with a 20% tip! The chicken was delicious this time but the salad was just a bit of lettuce with one small slice of tomato...

I had to explain to the brothers family restaurant I will no longer be a returning customer. After 4 of the 5 carry outs in recent months were missing food / sides that were paid for, today was the last straw, food order was wrong again , went back, they didn’t understand . They remade my food, got home the 2nd time Everything was so undercooked it was almost on purpose. I Went back to show the cook and explain what Salmonella is etc. (a real thing) (eggs). And undercooked (meat) can make u sick as well ., after explaining that the “toast” I ordered was cold soggy bread and toast usually is toasted . I decided u can’t fix stupid and I left. I’m Really upset because I’ve gone there my whole life and never had 1 issue until they switched up management. There’s about 2 maybe 3 (new) brain cells running that register on the weekends. Oh and after the 3rd trip back , my meat is still uncooked in the middle. I did however grab a free autotrader. So Atleast something good happened today.!!!! I hope someone makes them read this. if they are capable that is . Purely a SLAP in the face from new to the previous...

While there are many small town diners around this area, I keep coming back to Brothers for their delicious breakfast! The family atmosphere is warm here, but of course, the food is the piece de resistance. My favorite is the chicken fried steak skillet, which is a beautiful marriage of cut up chicken fried steak along with crispy hash browns, juicy mushrooms, gooey cheese, rich white gravy, and eggs to order - my mouth is watering again just thinking about it! I live abroad and I dreamed about this skillet for a year, so to come back and have it again was so satisfying!

I enjoyed my Farmer's Skillet with gravy biscuit on the side. So much food I couldn't eat it all. The biscuits were fluffy delicious! I just loved my server, Peggy, she was efficient, yet took time to be friendly. The price was a great deal. I highly recommend! Visited Brother's Family Restaurant again and had to add to my review. This place consistently has great service and food. I am gluten free, but their biscuits and gravy melt in your mouth and my one pleasure. If you have not tried them, please do yourself a favor. OMGosh, amazing!!
