Las Fajitas Mexican-Grill — Restaurant in Ravenswood

I’ve been a religious customer of Las Fajitas Mexican Grill since they come around in a food truck many years ago. I’ve over looked dining experiences that led to more than 2hrs wait on the food, rude waitresses, the staff that awkwardly and uncomfortably stares at me and messed up orders I never complain about. I even overlooked the fact that management hires and then brutally screams at teenage employees to the point they’ve cried infront of customers. (The owner is a more than 6ft tall very intimidating man who has no business screaming and intimidating 16/17 year old girls!! And I’m told by former employees that the wife justifies it and is worse than him) But I’ve officially reach my limit with this place! Last night I called in at about 840-9pm and specifically asked “what time do you quit seating?” And explained that I wanted to dine in but if that wasn’t possible I’d like to at least order carry out and pick it up because I knew I had the time to do that… they assured me that I didn’t need to order carry out and that if I got there before 9:30 they would seat me. I even got called back by a different employee a 2nd time and they told me “we don’t have upstairs dining available but we will be glad to still seat you in the downstairs section” I told them that was perfectly fine and headed right there.

I got there at 9:20 and they refused to seat me despite allowing me to drive there under the promise they would. Not only did they refuse to seat us but they were extremely rude like they didn’t just have a conversation on the phone with me confirming us a table. I’m just done. I’ve referred people who have came from all over the state, as well as out of state and, I eat there at least once a week as well as routinely pick up other orders for people from there. Well no more. You’ve lost my business and referral for good and if you keep treating customers that way and keep treating employees that way you will go out of business. This town is a “hot business at the moment” kind of town anyways. You go pissing off all the local treating them that way I assure you that your successful business won’t last long. The butcher block is already stealing most your business, offers better mixed drinks, and doesn’t have the police department monitoring the front door every second of the day. 100% don’t recommend anymore. So I don’t live in Ravenswood, but I stay over there a lot for work, My boyfriend and I have ordered this restaurant a few times before this and every time something is wrong with my food. I have tried and tried to give them chance, But after what happened today I’m done with that. We decided to order from there the night before last. Again, we get my food and it’s wrong, This time I decided that I was going to do something about. I called very politely told them the situation. I was told that they would make it right and I could come and get my order whenever I wanted, Well, I had to work the next day so I decided to call the next day and have them make me the burrito so I could take it to work with me for dinner for tonight. imagine my surprise when this evening I open my burrito just to find a bunch of pico de gallo in it, which it was not supposed to be there😮‍💨🤣. The thing is, I’m extremely OCD And I order my food a certain way, so that should never be a problem. I ordered my food exactly like this. One California burrito, chicken, No vegetables, only chicken, white cheese sauce, extra extra sour cream, Beans and rice. So when I opened it back up again today and realized it was wrong. I called them. I expected them to tell me to bring it over to them and they would fix it but this time that’s not what happened…… this time I was switched from a very kind gentleman to a less kind female. She tried to tell me that nobody told her no pico de gio. I Thought to myself, how could you not know it was literally written down on paper. The whole order exactly how it’s supposed to be. But she said she’d be happy to remake my order, but I’d have to pay for it. If it’s just me, I’ll shut up, but isn’t that just bullshit? I mean, I paid for my meal to be correct the first time. I hate this shit. It gives me anxiety because I don’t like causing issues. I don’t even like confronting people. But this has got me mad! I shouldn’t have to pay for food that I am rightfully owed. I have now gotten two burritos I can’t/don’t want to eat. I hate tomatoes and onions and am allergic to Cilantro and parsley both. So would I recommend This restaurant to anybody? I would not. STOP what your doing & GO NOW!! Absolutely delicious! Exactly what we wanted but actually better😂 We got a Blue Hawaiian & my fiance got a Bahama Mama. The drinks were tasty and well made andcame in these cute but good sized, sturdy, Tiki glasses! The whole restaurant was SUPER clean and fresh, very comfortable and modern. We live in Kansas City but visit Ravenswood often as his family is from there. I absolutely love it there. We had tried Fajitas food truck when it was down at the riverfront for a while a year or 2 back. His parents had tried it and loved it and we went when we were on a visit. It was delicious then just limited to a food truck. We were so excited when we saw they had moved up to actually moving into a building space! We didn't get to try them the last time or 2 we were in but so happy we got to this time. We will be visiting at least once from now on every time we come in. There is no comparison! I am sooooo sorry I dont have pictures of our food. It was picturesque and perfect! We got Chicken Chimichangas with rice and beans and sour cream with lettuce and tomatoe...wooow! It was exactly like you'd want it to look I promise 🤗❤️. After sitting talking at the table I mentioned wondering what shrimp chimichanga/mexican food would taste like because I had never had mexican seafood. He ended up getting a "Texas" Chimichanga that was steak, chicken, and shrimp!!!!! He loved it but offered it to me so I immediately traded him and it was awesome!! Getting this next time GUARANTEED!!! Thank you fajitas for breaking me in to Mexican and Seafood together! Cant wait...
