I don't know who owns the place but clearly he or she just doesn't care or is being lied to by there management or they just care about the bottom line. #1 could not get coffee refills without flagging down a waitress and that was hard to do. #2 I ordered the special, and my husband ordered Cappy's Supreme. It took 45 minutes to get there. My French toast would not even melt butter when it came out. #3 a man sitting at another table had his hand up in the air waiting to get service. I saw 3 waitresses look directly at him and continue on doing other things. Such as standing there with a cup of coffee and a glazed look on their face. He had his hand in the air for a good 3 to 4 minutes. He was just trying to get coffee. #4 I witnessed a blonde waitress come in take off her coat get herself some coffee and just stand there and look, it appeared she was late for work and she had no problem with just standing there drinking coffee. While I myself had to flag down waitresses constantly just to get a refill. I understand that Rawlins Wyoming has a drug problem, it would behoove Cappy's to start giving urinalysis to their staff cuz clearly they were on drugs. #5 the table next to me the man sitting there ordered the special also, he took three or four bites and that was it. His wife went and got a styrofoam tray so they could take it with him and feed their dog, although the man thought the dog wouldn't eat it either. He was mad because the food was bad and his wife still left the waitress a tip. He was extremely MAD. #6 I do not know how a restaurant is run in this fashion. To wait 45 minutes for you food and have it come out cold is beyond the pale. On top of that you have to pay $21 for two breakfasts. I understand that Rawlins Wyoming is in the middle of nowhere caught between Cheyenne and Snow-Cheese-Men Trial but I have had a better breakfast in Iraq eating an MRE at least there I had better service under gun fire. #7 all in all my experience at Cappy's was miserable. I will not be giving them anymore my business until I can read in the newspaper that they are either under new ownership or at the very least New Management and giving urinalysis to their employees. #8 if you want to get dog food for your dog I suggest you drive 4 miles down the road to Walmart and buy it there other than that I would stay the hell...
Read moreDate of incident. 03/12/2017. Absolutely horrid. They served our son raw chicken. When we brought this to their attention they told us we need to be better parents and check our children's food.(we have 4 children.) They felt no remorse whatsoever for serving raw chicken. We did not make a scene we quietly asked to talk to the waitress and manager. The owner came out and was extremely upset that we had told them they had served us raw chicken. Then the owner decided to get the cook out there to yell in our face saying "I'm not perfect like you guys". In front of other customers. All we wanted was bring to the fact that they had served us raw chicken. ( the waitress did see the raw chicken before it was taken away.) In the end she( the owner) refused to let us pay for any of the meal and kicked us out. I have no problem paying for the meal. We just wanted to bring to their attention they had served us raw chicken. I tried to thank her for going ahead and taking care of the bill and not charging us. And the owner still got upset at me about saying thank you. And tried to make a spectacle of it in front of all her customers when all we wanted to do is quietly, not front her off in front of her customers. Whatever you do, do not go here it is absolutely disgusting and the owner and management are absolutely horrid. We also asked about what would happen if we get home from our travels and our son gets sick what happens. I asked for her information and the restaurant information, she refused and told me to get out. I was not trying to start a fight all I was after is if an emergency happened(food poisoning over raw chicken in the next 24 hours) I just wanted some information if that happened. She said fine take him to the hospital down the street. She claimed she'd been in the restaurant business 19 years. Anyone that has been around food knows any type of food poisoning does not show up for at least 12 to 24 hours. ( unless allergic to which our son is not allergic to chicken). This restaurant is trying to hide horrible quality, horrible service, and horrible ownership...
Read moreA throw back in time in a good way. Places like this used to be a dime a dozen, but now they are being crowded out by fast food junk and upscale white linen restaurants. Don't get me wrong I appreciate fine dining, but sometimes I just want reasonably priced basic and tasty food. This place checks all the boxes and also has really friendly staff. I don't know if it was the owner or manager, but he was having a grand old time shooting the breeze with a table of older women behind us. Apparently regulars that were also enjoying their interaction with him. We obviously were not regulars, but he spent time making sure everything was ok and we had a nice conversation. Nothing intrusive, just making us feel welcomed. Add to This was the food was great. I had the Spicy Chicken Ranch (Cajun) and it was as good as any I've had in Louisiana. Flavorful with just the right amount of heat. Fries were a little greasy, but on the other hand very tasty. Probably not good for the arteries...hey you only live once right? Every once in awhile it's not going to kill you (wouldn't eat them every day though). My wife had the Half Chicken Caesar which she really liked. Dessert was Pecan Pie that my wife said was superb. Here's the kicker...I had Strawberry Cream Pie and in this little town in Wyoming where I would have never thought it possible I ate the best Strawberry Cream pie ever. Wow! I live in Brooklyn and there's no shortage of great pastry shops...go figure! Nice place with a varied menu. Super plain surroundings and I wouldn't go here for our 25th wedding anniversary, but good eats nonetheless. I've said this before. Places like this are true Americana. They are getting crowded out by fast food junk places. Go there while you still can and enjoy food that doesn't taste...
