DiCara's Deli — Restaurant in Reading

Read all these great reviews about this place, especially the meatball subs. Never been so disappointed. Bread was not fresh. Meatballs tasted old and sauce was very basic. Also got another sub, pastrami, with hots and cheese. Meat was tough, hots were two big pieces of jalapeño. Should have known it was going to be bad when they asked if I wanted the pastrami hot? Ah yeah. I am fussy because I worked in kitchens for many years. I would have been more than happy to blow up the place how great it was. I came many miles to try this place. Never been more disappointed. Was so excited to be there, can’t believe it was this bad. Parking is a nightmare, worth it if really good food but it just wasn’t. I was so hoping it was good. Oh well....

Yesterday I got a pastrami with Swiss, spicy mustard and red onion. Today an Italian run through the garden. I found my new favorite spot! I work the early shift and get out between 10/11 am it’s hard to find “lunch” then. The store is clean, bright, organized and the Italian food selection is large. They have beautiful premade salads and lasagna and sauces!!! I could go on! They have a great deli selection and I noticed they have Dietz and Watson black pastrami! No wonder my sub was so awesome. And don’t get me started on the hot peppers! I’ll be back...

I think you are mistaken about our “Luncheon Specials” Monday Special is a Pastrami which is discounted. Tuesday is Lasagna & Meatball , this item is not on our daily offerings Wednesday Italian sub comes with a free can of Soda Thursday is a Thanksgiving Sandwich, not available on our daily specials Friday is Superbeef which is discounted.

All specials offerings end at 2pm each day.
