Local pizzerias in Reading tend to be mediocre or incredibly inconsistent from order to order which has caused me to avoid them entirely for years now and solely order from the big chains like Dominos or Papa John's- Because although they won't get you an excellent pizza at least you know that it'll be of consistently decent quality, and in my experience their franchise policies regarding presentation, cleanliness and customer service are more strict and customer-friendly than the local pizzerias, too.
I placed my first ever order from King of Cheese Pizza today after reading some of the reviews and this was my experience:
Good prices for the portions you get. Especially if you order a meal using some of their promos(I ordered through their website)
Food was great. Aside from the pizza, I was particularly surprised by their Italian Stromboli which arrived with a very crispy dough that did not fall apart the moment you slightly pulled it apart or picked it up... something I've been through before and usually an indicator of it not being baked for a proper amount of time. Stromboli was probably my favorite item from my order even above the pizza.
The chicken wings were good enough... nothing to complain about or praise. This is primarily because I've yet to eat great wings that were NOT made at home. To me all of the Pizzerias' wings taste and seem to be prepared the same way. These ones were no exception so I have a neutral stance on it.
Delivery. It arrived within 35 minutes and still hot. The delivery fee was not as expensive as some other places.
Website. The payment page could use some improvements to confirm that the order has been taken. I had to call in because I was not sure since the status stayed set at "processing" when I tried to track my order. The presentation of their menu is good and the website has a modern design.
Overall the last negative point I have isn't that big of a deal to me and certainly does not take away from what I truly prioritize when ordering from a pizzeria which is why I'm giving...
Read moreI had been meaning to stop at this place for a while. So I finally did yesterday. I mentioned how I was a first time customer and heard good things about their food. I ordered simple. 3 plain slices of pizza 2 with extra cheese. I waited about 10 minutes and thanked them and went on my way. After getting home, I opened the box and was in shock!!! Over-cooked and burnt to a fault!!! I immediately called. I explained who I was, what I ordered. The manager said "oh yeah I remember you." He apologized and then said "I will have a talk with my cook." As a first time customer, I should have been offered a do-over or credit. Have a talk with your cook??!! I will NEVER patronize this establishment again. Pizza went in the trash. I'm going to stick with...
Read moreOrdered delivery from here once and half of the order was messed up. I ordered a turkey hoagie with provolone, cheese fries, and two slices of pizza. We were given plain fries, and a hoagie with American (even though they read it back to me as with provolone). The assembly on the hoagie was sloppy, all of the vegetables were thrown on top instead of on the bottom or sides, and this made it messy to eat bc the vegetables kept falling out. The cheese on the hoagie was pretty gross, had a consistency somewhat similar to cream cheese. You could tell that it was almost definitely of the kind wrapped in plastic. Husband said the pizza itself was good, so we’ll probably just order that from now on, given that they get the...
