I have been dining at the Reeds Spring Pizza Company with my family for 10 years and I have always raved about the food and service. The only negative point I have ever had is the water, which is the worst I have ever tasted, but that is not their fault. That all changed yesterday. When my family and I arrived, there was only one other party in the dining area; four adults and four children, so it was in no way crowded. We immediately ordered our food, including an appetizer of "Killer Bread". After a 20 minute wait, I asked our waitress where our appetizer was and she said it would be right out. 10 minutes later, it arrived. Then, 20 minutes later, I asked her where our pizza was at, as we were about to leave, as I felt 50 minutes in a practically empty restaurant was unacceptable. She said it would be right out (again). 15 minutes later, we finally got our pizza. My wife ordered another beer and our server left, came back in the dining area and started bussing the table where the other party had left. After another 10 minutes, I reminded her about the beer and then she went and got it. Our server never once asked us if we needed more drinks.
When she brought our check, I told her that I had been coming here for 10 years and I felt that the time it took to get our food was unacceptable. Her response was that they had a lot of call-in orders. If that is the reason for taking over an hour to get one small pizza and a calzone, then I would suggest the owner close down the dining area and focus strictly on carry outs. It should be indicative there is a problem there when on a very nice Saturday at noon time, there are only two families there. In reading through the reviews, I saw FIFTEEN other complaints mentioning this exact same thing in just the last 6 months, so this is obviously a reoccurring problem. We saw a woman at the cash register that I believe is one of the owners who never acknowledged us. I would have thought our server would have mentioned my complaint to her and she would have said something to us but either our server hadn't or, the owner didn't care.
If you take a moment to read my previous reviews of other restaurants in both Google Reviews and Yelp, it is obvious I take joy in providing great reviews of good restaurants but when I encounter the poor service we encountered yesterday, I feel compelled to address that as well. What I find sad is, the Reeds Spring Pizza Company has been an institution in Reeds Springs for many years but I'm afraid if they don't change their ways and make immediate improvements on how they treat their dine-in customers, they will not last. As a former owner of two restaurants, I would never have treated my diners this way, nor would I have permitted staff to be so inattentive to the diners. There is just no acceptable excuse for it. We won't...
Read moreIt’s unfortunate that I have to leave this review for this place but it seems like it’s been an on going problem here for quite awhile. My wife and I was looking forward to eating here as it has been a minutes since we have had it. We were greeted with a smile, sat immediately, and our order was taken promptly. The server was nice but she seemed overwhelmed. She took our order by memory (this was at around 6:04 pm). We ordered 2 large pizzas (a 1 topping and a 2 topping pizza), cheesy bread, 2 soft drinks and a salad. The server had already forgot what kind of dressing my wife wanted with her salad when she was bringing it out. We also had to ask for straws 3 separate times. While this is a mistake that can commonly happen, I didn’t think much of it. But I noticed the couple seated across from us were kind of disgruntled. One of them asked for plates for them so they could eat the pizza. 3-5 minutes went by and the same customer had to ask again. This caught my attention as the server kept saying “I know I’m forgetting something!” Didn’t give me much hope that my order was going to be right at all. I would suggest having your servers write orders down will taking them because this was not a great look at all. She walked by and asked how everything was with a big smile. Problem was, it was 30 minutes later and we only had drinks and a salad at that point. So we continued to wait another 20 minutes. Server came out with a yellow bowl of something and went to each table (there was only 4 tables with customers at this time) to ask if they ordered it. Another concerning issue for me. All together we sat with our drinks only for 50 minutes without even a starter (the cheesy bread). The server also was bussing a table and was carrying more than she could handle and dropped a plate right behind my wife with food going all on my leg and all under our table. The server just smiled and said “Whoopsy” or something to that manner. We was fed up and we asked the server how much longer it was going to be and she replied with “I don’t know what’s going on today. The kitchen is going super slow. They said that I only put the order in 20-25 minutes ago…” While I cannot guarantee our server (and the only server there) put our order in right afterwards. It was 6:54 at this point. In 54 minutes, we were able to get a 1 salad and 2 drinks. We asked for our check for what we received because we were tired of waiting. We never got an apology or anything. Just got told that we owed $8 and some change because of “taxes” or something like that. This just sucks because this used to be a place that we loved to come to and it was supporting a local business. We won’t be back anytime soon. Wasn’t enjoyable at all. Nobody seemed to care at...
Read moreMy husband and I are fairly new to the area and have been trying new restaurants each week. We went on a Friday evening around 615-630. It was not busy...3-4 people sitting at the bar and 2 other tables of people when we arrived. We were given menus and our drinks (water). We sat for 25...I will repeat 25...minutes with the staff walking past us many times and about 3 more couples coming in to sit at tables nearby. We were trying to be patient because we have heard good things in the past about this place and had really been wanting to give it a try. I finally asked as the female server walked past our table if we could order our meal because we'd been waiting so long. She buzzed by us, smiled, and said "sure thing honey, you can" and went to the bar side. I told my husband that I felt her response was kind of patronizing. I assumed she was going to get a pad to write down our order...but she came back into the room and went straight to another table of people behind us that came in a solid 10-15 minutes after us. The male server that got our drinks and menus was playing with the TV nearby looking for a specific channel. He looked at us twice before passing our table up. Needless to say we got up and left at this point. Both servers looked at us as if they were shocked! It was the worst experience we've had at any establishment we've tried so far. EXTREMELY POOR SERVICE!! I can't even speak on their food because we waited 25 minutes and never got to order...nothing, not even an appetizer! We will NOT return for another try! After reading reviews from the past 3ish months, I noticed this is a common occurrence of bad service, long wait times, and poor quality food. I wish I wouldn't read the reviews before attempting to go to this place. Side note: we left and drove a few miles down the road to Parmesan's Pizzeria! Service was STELLAR! Food was great! We had a giant salad, calzone, and baked pasta. We were in and out in less than 30 minutes! Fast,...
