The Angry Oven — Restaurant in Richfield Township

I have frequented the Angry Oven since they opened several years back. I was not impressed with my last visit. We showed up Thursday for a couple of drinks. The first thing I noticed was how filthy the glass front door was. It obviously had not been cleaned in a long time. When we entered, the employees were sitting on their phones. We ordered drinks from the bar and sat outside. Nobody came and waited on us. The bathrooms are DISGUSTING! They obviously had not been cleaned in a LOOOOONG time. The next night they had live music so we headed back to the Angry Oven. Once again, we sat outside and nobody waited us. The bathrooms still had not been cleaned and this was close to 30 hours later. (I took pictures, but I cannot bring myself to post them and hurt this business). During our evening, at one point, the staff went to the side of the building and were getting high. Customers were commenting on it, as well as the entertainer. I was so excited when the Angry Oven opened in St. Helen years ago, they have so much to offer, but they need to make some changes. Before posting, I did try to get a hold of the owner to discuss my concerns, but was unable to. I hope they will read this review and address...

Grabbed a smoked brisket pizza and some cheese bread to go. The pizza was one of the best I’ve ever had anywhere. Like honestly probably top 5 out of the dozens of places I’ve gotten pizza from. 110% will be back just for that pizza. The crust was light and crisp, the hot honey worked well with the other flavors, plenty of cheese and great texture on the cheese as well. Would’ve liked more mushrooms but that’s personal preference.

On the contrary, the cheese bread was total opposite. Honestly probably one of the worst I’ve ever had. Dough was paper thin and soggy, not much cheese and the cheese was very bland. Just scrap the whole thing and come up with something new.

Staff was friendly, order was made fresh right in front of me. Forgot to ask for ranch and marinara but they were both in with the cheese bread when we got back to camp.

The ranch also was nothing special. Tasted like some cheap bulk brand and had an artificial thickener texture to it.

Overall, 3/5 for the food, the staff brings my overall up to 4 stars. Will definitely be back to get another brisket pizza and probably...

where to start... got off the trail looking for some good pizza.. Angry oven pizzeria sounded like the place to go. UNTIL i seen $30 for a 14" pizza. I asked the kid who was tending to us about the price and he said "yeah i know, i get that all the time, we import our yeast from Italy and shipping is really expensive". (WHAT?) He said the owners really don't want to make the pizza because it cost so much to make. (WHAT?) it's a pizzeria right? He said the over is special and only works with that.. At this point the guys are asking if we should just leave. BUT we didn't and I got a chicken sandwich which i had to drown in BBQ sauce. The ciabatta was good.. probably made with italian yeast. The sandwich was $13.99 and was decent. I guess the owner is from lower michigan from a posh little town and he just don't know is demographic up there. Town was hoppin, but his restaurant was empty.
