I grew up in Tazewell & Italian Village was the place to go on the weekend with friends. I came into town & I wanted to go somewhere that was not crowded bc of covid precautions. My dad suggested the location for Italian Village. I was rather surprised at the store front. It was fun & inviting. When I entered I noticed the floors were extremely clean & it was spacious and very well lit. The atmosphere was spot on. I appreciated the large board with the food choices with prices. I also noticed behind the counter how immaculately clean it was. Hand scooped ice-cream is available, which was very tempting. We ordered our food, they give you a number then call out your number for each item that is ready. Not quite use to this but it was nice to get hot fresh food. My dad & I were able to sit in a section with no other patrons which made me feel comfortable. Salad was large & good amount of toppings. I got the chicken parmesan with spaghetti & garlic bread. I really didn't like the sauce & wasn't crazy about the garlic bread. I brought thus to the attention of the cook. She happily without reluctancy fixed the issue. She was apologetic & so kind with such a lovely smile. I got the calzone which was amazingly good. We were graciously presented with mini cheesecake which was quite delicious. I was extremely impressed by the cleanliness of the restroom. Everything was hands free & well stocked. I had a memorable time with my dad. I would definitely go back the next time I'm in...
Read moreWorst place ever to ever go to try and eat!!!!! So my daughter and I go to Italian village to eat today @ 11:07am and the doors were locked so I call the restaurant and ask if they were open and they replied yes so we once again went to doors and they were still locked and a girl inside looked at us and laughed so we go back to car I called restaurant again and said your doors are locked they said you’re at wrong location ( as far as I know only one Italian village in richlands Virginia) so I said you’re beside dollar general and across from the Mexican restaurant and she said oh no you’re at wrong location so I ask for manager which then let me talk to the owner and the owner proceeded to tell me all the excuses like how she unlocked doors at 8 a.m. and one of the girls locked them back by mistake and that the girl inside wasn’t laughing at us trying to open the doors and that she didn’t know why the girl said we were at wrong location but not once did she say we apologize come back to our restaurant . Obviously this owner doesn’t need the business or doesn’t know how to run a business because I have never and would never make excuses for this type of behavior from an employee. So we had Mexican for lunch lol . My advice would be skip Italian village and go straight to Mexican restaurant across the road great service...
Read moreHow do you rate the best pizza joint in town? I have been eating Italian Village since my high school days, when it FIRST opened in the mall, when the Italian brothers were back there tossing pizza in the air. Back in the day when you could come in, pop some quarters in the juke box, sit with your friends on Friday before the big game and eat and hang out and really enjoy life. Going there with your boyfriend/girlfriend and having date night, going out with the girls and watching the guys in the mall.....it was THE place to be. But....the food ....if the atmosphere and pizza isn't enough to bring you back, then the calzones, full of sauce and cheese and your favorite toppings might do it. Or how about their legendary subs....steak, cheese, peppers, onions, mushrooms, and the sauce.....and those fries! Or if you're like me, you switch it up and get a nacho salad now and then. Chili on the bottom, with lettuce, nacho chips, tons of cheese, onions and some go for the sour cream. You got your spaghetti lovers, you got those who come for the burgers. If you want it, you can pretty much get it here and I promise you won't regret it!
They made a move from that mall to down next to the high school. Got a drive through window. It's a little more convenient in some ways, but lacks that nostalgia. The...
