Welcome to Ken's Country Kitchen. This little hidden gem is in the heart of Richmond, MI. It's a medium size restaurant with a hometown feel. I happened to come upon Ken's when a friend took me here for lunch on a fine, sunny Saturday afternoon. The restaurant had deck full of patron enjoying their lunch or for some their breakfast. We were greed by the owner with "Welcome Ken's and a big smile" and the gentleman asked us how many in our party. We were taken to a booth in cozy corner of the restaurant were my friend and I could talk and go over the days events. We were greeted with by a young lady who took our drink order and within moments we had our waitress come to our table with warm friendly smile. She took our drink order and expediently retrieved them and was ready to place our order. We ordered a bacon club on a pita and a triple club sandwich with fries. We each ordered a cup of the clam chowder, which I might add, was some of the best chowder I had in a long time. In wasn't long before our ordered arrived, which was nice and hot and the way we both had placed our meals. The waitress again with a big smile stated again for us to enjoy our meal and we promptly thanked her. We enjoyed our meals as we held our conversation and throughout our time there not only did the owner check on us as well as our server did. Getting us refills of our drinks and clearing our table of plates. Now that is service with a smile. Our waitress came over again to drop our bill and asked if we wanted refills again which we took her up on getting a refill as we knew we would be here awhile. We placed our credit cards on the table and she kindly split the bill for us and processed our payments quickly and thanked us for coming in today. I would highly recommend coming here for either breakfast, lunch or dinner as one would not go wrong if you did. I look forward to coming back and next time enjoying a dinner as they have a full menu to order from! They have a kids menu and handicap seating and parking. The restrooms I cannot say if they are handicapped equipped or not as neither of used the restroom. They are 5 star cozy, hometown, family owned restaurant. Please...
ย ย ย Read moreThis place is truly a hidden gem. We were passing thru town and just wanted to grab a quick bite to eat in a little town diner. Upon walking in, the place, is clean and the staff is friendly. As we sat down, we began perusing the menu... OMG... I've never seen a menu with this many different options ANYWHERE... we were thinking there's no possible way a restaurant could store this much food and keep it fresh just waiting for people to order it... I took a leap of faith and ordered the lobster ravioli, fully expecting it to be something that was quickly thawed out and served in a bowl without much flavor... but OMG... IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!! My son ordered the full slab of ribs and he said they were some of the best he's ever had. The flavor was EXCELLENT, and they were loaded with meat. At 18 yrs old, the kid can eat, but he needed to get a carryout box and enjoyed them again for lunch the next day. Lastly, it was incredibly refreshing to hear so many friendly voices coming in and out of the restaurant, from both the staff and the customers. Truly an enjoyable dining experience. ๐ ๐ ๐ ๐...
ย ย ย Read moreCute restaurant with friendly service. The menu, or should I say menu's, were a little unorganized and hard to read through. The daily special menu was as big as what I expect a full menu to be. I'm guessing because the menu's were so huge that's why the flavor was a little bland. We got the hot Turkey sandwich and the lemon pepper chicken. Honestly the vegetables, which were cooked carrots, were the tastiest items we ordered. The food wasnt bad but I expected a bit more from such a cute establishment. Our server was very nice. Seemed like staffed worked well together as other servers topped off our coffee and took empty plates away. Portions weren't huge but for the price they weren't bad. I'm sure they have more flavorful items somewhere in their menus. I personally think if they cut the menu down to a quarter of the size it is now and focused on flavor, it would be the best restaurant in town. I dont think I'll eat here again but it was a great experience trying a new...
