This is the best BBQ I have had in the state of Maine, hands down (probably even the best ever, actually). Portions are awesome. The home-made sauce is a perfect compliment to the meats. The collards were nicely spiced, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. Beans were superb. The coleslaw is excellent; tangy and not dry and flavorless like some other, "less-clothed" places (won't name names). Cornbread waffles will be on the order list from now on, so good! I can tell this guy is trying but he really doesn’t know how to do good BBQ. Brisket was overcooked and wasn’t even cut properly. I asked him for some flat and some point, I don’t think he knew what I was talking about. Ribs were burnt and crispy. The Mac and cheese tasted like it had been in a fire. This place is a gem find!! Clay has a menu that’s impossible to choose from. So we tried a little of everything! So crazy-good!!
