Mr Submarine — Restaurant in Richmond

As a loyal customer who has frequented every Mr. Submarines in Richmond, I have always enjoyed both the food and the wonderful service. Unfortunately, my recent visit to the Jefferson Davis Highway location was a deeply disappointing exception. The staff member who took my order, Jamie, was unwelcoming from the start. When I asked if I could pay after my sub was made—as I was considering adding to my order and wanted to ensure it was correct—she abruptly refused to serve me, claiming I had an "attitude." Despite my explaining that I did not and that I simply needed to feed my hungry child waiting in the car, she stood firm, stating, "I don't want to serve you." This unprofessional conduct at the Jefferson Davis location is a stark contrast to the high standards I've come to expect from Mr. Submarines. There has to be some kind of miscommunication going on here with the employees because I called and was told they weren’t placing anymore orders and then my bf called again and was told by a different person that we could place an order smh. We placed the order and was told about 30 mins until the food will be done even though they were almost about to close. We arrive within 15 after the call and they locked the doors literally in our face and waved their fingers like we were five year olds and told us that they’re closed even after we explained that we were the ones that called ahead of time and they proceeded to talk negatively about us behind closed doors upon one another. I’ve been coming here for years! Walked here to get my grandma a sub in the middle of a blizzard a few years back. Always looking forward to the best tasting home style steak and cheese or any other subs Mr.Submarine has. This one is in a perfect location, it does have it’s peak times where you may have to wait.
