Sweet Simone's — Restaurant in Richmond

Sweet Simone's is a beautiful little bakery and cafe in Richmond Vermont. I was gifted a gift card to this cafe and since I didn't want to waste this opportunity to try a new cafe I did some research. I found that they have many options such as gluten free and vegan. They also have a variety of drinks from cold brew to lattes to tea lattes and teas. I am someone who prides myself on experiencing new cafes and I always enjoy variety as well as rarity. You can imagine my excitement when I found they served a London fog.

The order I gave was somewhat long considering I ordered for both a coworker of mine and myself. I loved how the baristas were very inviting and cheerful. Considering it was early morning and I haven't had my coffee yet, I would usually become irritable. However, they were very helpful and sweetly cheerful that I couldn't help but smile and become excited to relay my order. I noticed how efficiently they worked as well. Two people, during the opening shift, working at 50 miles a minute to serve the long line of people. I was deeply impressed.

I decided to order my all time favorite universal beverage, a chai tea latte with cinnamon. Of course every ups has some downs, so I won't say it was the best I've ever tasted but that's simply due to the fact that they left the tea bag in the latte cup. Typically, my chai tea lattes are brewed and not from a tea bag but that is simply my preference. I ordered some classic chocolate chip cookies and I can say they did not disappoint. The portion was more than you would expect to pay for a $2.50 cookie and the taste was fresh. Side note: I arrived 10 minutes into their opening. I also ordered some gluten free chocolate espresso cookies. Those definitely made up for the latte. I highly recommend trying at least one of these cookies. The last cookie I ordered was a vegan peanut butter chocolate chip cookie, and it's very good. Of course I favor the espresso cookie but that's only because I love coffee. Lastly, I decided to order a raspberry fruit bar. Now the texture of this fruit bar is outstanding. The taste of raspberry lingers in your mouth in such a way you want another one. If there's anything someone must definitely order when going to Sweet Simone's it's the raspberry fruit bar.

I won't just snag their 5 star rating due to one chai latte. However, I will say I am definitely going to return to Sweet Simone's and find out which hot beverage is the best. I want to give a great beverage recommendation therefore I refuse to quit on this goal.

Overall there is amazing service, amazing baked goods, and an amazing atmosphere to enter. Including air conditioning for those hot days and outside seating for when you want to enjoy the day...

Young gentleman to take our order seemed unimpressed with us only getting case items and not worthy of his time - even though there was no line.

We had bought overnight oats- Almond, gf V -

Within the first few bites my partner was feeling itchy in his throat - I tasted what we had thought was almond butter (assumption from the labeled “almond” and it tasted like peanut butter- I ran in to ask what the butter inside was and was met with a rude woman after confirming it was peanut butter. I let her know of the concern and that they should be labeled with peanut butter as well and still met with a “yep”. We will not return and such a bummer with lack of any coffee...

Sweet Simones provided the best wedding cake for my 10/1/22 wedding that I've ever had by far. We did several different tastings and they blew away the other cakes that we tried. We also loved the options that they had regarding separate desserts. We opted to make every tier a different flavor and desserts for our dietary restriction guests. They were all a huge hit. My favorite cake of all time is a maple buttercream and they're maple buttercream was one of the best I've ever had! They responded back very quickly and we had everything finalized very quickly. We only needed to confirm a few items about a month out, otherwise this was the smoothest vendor interaction I had in my entire wedding...
