Julia's Donuts & Coffee — Restaurant in Richwood

The laziest donut shop I have ever been to. I am a shift worker and when I get off from night shift at 5am I sometimes swing by to grab breakfast on the way home and the experience has never improved. When you say you, “Open at 4am”, you should be there to start prepping and cooking at 3am. Not opening up at 4am and then putting out cold, day old food and charging the same price as the fresh food you cook later in the day. Yes, day old food that didn’t sell is what you get if you are some of the first people to stop by. How do I know this? Because all the donuts and kolaches are cold and stiff. We were visiting family in Lake Jackson and were told to check out Julia Donuts. My 11 yr old said the following which is high praise..."their donuts are really good quality and they put in effort in the flavor of the icing. Normally a reddish pink donut doesn't have a flavor but theirs had a cherry flavor and was GOOD!" And husband said the kolaches were great too. I would just like to say that aside from the great food and drinks, they have the BEST customer service! They actually remember and acknowledge their repeat customers. They are a mandatory stop for me every morning! If you want your food heated, they heat it at a temperature that does not dry out the food. Their glazed donuts just melt in your mouth and I'm especially fond of their Chappell Hill spicy kolache. I highly recommend this absolutely...
