My partner and I intended to bring our little family to somewhere else, but when I called THAT PLACE, they informed us that they were very busy but we were welcome to try and get a table(with a kid? Lol maybe some other time, thanks). A quick search for an American dine in place brought me to Barn Door and based off their menu, I gave them a call to see if they required a reservation and the person who answered the phone signed me up for a reservation right then and there(in such a friendly way I was already halfway there before I realized what happened!) The parking lot is actually a one way who's entrance is off the main road. There are additional parking spots in front of the building. There really isn't an area outside to eat aside from the tables lining the parking spaces (where there's a car grill up against your table and no barrier...) The exit is out to a side street which makes re-entering the main road easy. As you enter, you're greeted by a small hostess area and a pretty popular bar. The dining room is a little cramped. The staff are friendly and helpful and quick! They bolted around making sure all the guests were tended to and satisfied with their service. Now upon initial inspection, the menu looked a bit pricey for a roadside diner/bar, HOWEVER, it was worth every penny. My burger(well done) was juicy and flavorful and mixed responsibly with it's burger toppings. My partners burger(also well done and well made) had a little too much sauce(could be too much, could be in need of layering adjustment đ) but delicious, nonetheless. The fries were crunchy, tasty, and fresh! Our child, with their discernible pallette, had buttered noods. We requested parmesan cheese(like heathens đ€Łđ€Ł) and they produced freshly shredded( đł )parmesan. 8-year-old approved pasta đ đ

Read moreThis establishment is a true âKEEPER!â The moment you walk in a comfy cozy feeling surrounds you. This place is not too big that you get lost, not too small that you feel cramped. Not too noisy that you can't hear yourself speak but not too quiet so that everyone knows your business - unless you're will to share your info.
Now about the food...nice variety, generous portions but not the size that you feel you're eating out of a trough - that's a good thing. The chef is skilled, clearly. Chef brings a familiarity to the menu with creative âtwistsâ to recognized favorites. Simply delicious!!!
The Staff? SUPERB! We were there once before but when we walked in we were greeted with a warm smile, a âHi, how have you been, and, what can we getâcha?!â - Friendly bartenders who know their customer's favorites and are not apprehensive to give you a taste of an unfamiliar libation in order to perhaps increase your beverage repertoire.
This is the perfect place for lunch, early afternoon drinks and appetizers, to meet friends for your own âhappy hourâ, and to enjoy a relaxing evening for a wonderful dinner. Don't be concerned if you come in alone. There's plenty of friends here.
One more thing... Don't forget to shake hands with the owner. He mingles, asks how everything is, and is apparent he appreciates you choosing his place to sit and spend some time. A lovely gentlemen.
The Barn Door? - HIGHLY...
Read moreThis place does not look like much from the outside, but boy oh boy once you've stepped inside! BAM!!! The decor is simply lovely and the food was VERY good! There are two dining areas, we enjoyed the main dining room with a lovely fireplace that gave the room a lovely glow. The service was gracious and cordial. I do have one recommendation, when escorting your guests to the table, please consider pulling out the table so as to allow the person entering the banquet side easy access. This not only allows for the couple already seated to enjoy their meal without interruption, but also allows the person being seated to do so in a graceful and elegant manner as possible.
The food was AMAZING! We enjoyed the seafood soup, WOW! Seriously, the presentation allowed for all of my senses to be engaged. It was so pretty that I didn't want to eat it, but to delectable not to!
The only reason I did not give the Barn Door five stars was because of the yelling that was heard coming from the kitchen, sort of a la Gordon Ramsey. At first it was comical, but then as the yelling continued along with a degree of audiable verbal abuse, the comical aspect ceased to be entertaining. While this did not take away from the food and service, it did diminish the overall...
