10.22.2023 Immediately came to write this review as I walked out of E.A.T.S Diner. I am extremely satisfied with my first visit on today ( satisfied to the point where my partner and I stated how good the food was at least 20 times in 2 minutes ). From Google reviews and photos, I did not expect the atmosphere and food selections to be as nice as they were.
Atmosphere and Service: The diner was clean, spacious, and decorated nicely. There was music playing and a TV on at the bar. The service was amazing. Everyone from the hostess to the server and busboy were polite, helpful, and professional towards us. We were greeted coming in and leaving out. Our server consistently checked in with us and tended to our every need. They even allowed a family to dine in one minute before closing, which is honestly shocking yet impressive for their service!
The food: I ordered the two pancakes with sausage patties, a chicken tender meal, and beignets. The pancakes were delicious, I was even able to eat it without syrup and enjoy it! One of the pancakes were a bit on the darker side so it tasted a bit burnt, but it was still nice. Two sausage patties were included and they were delicious as well. The chicken tenders were great, but the fries were even better. The beignets were absolutely amazing! They were drowned in powder sugar, but with this being my first attempt at professional beignets, I assume that’s the point :) The food was super hot and fresh, and I give them all a 10/10. My partner had chili, the breakfast burrito, and the pancake plate with bacon. The chili was a 5/10 as a personal opinion, but the breakfast burrito was absolutely memorable. I did not taste the chili, but the burrito gained a 10/10 from the both of us!
Overall, I recommend their breakfast/brunch and I will be back to hopefully eat more breakfast and try their...
Read moreGood food, simple fresh fare. Very nice young waitstaff. Feels like home. Love the Swiss, mushroom burger, the Disco dog, sweet tater tots, fried okra and breakfast all day. Unfortunately last night after a long hard rainy day tried to go there and eat at 25 minutes till 8:00 and they were closed. So I went back, the first trial was from my girlfriend and I went back at 20 minutes till and the lady who I assume is one of the owners came to the door and said we closed the kitchen early because we haven't had a table all night. Now this restaurant only stays open until 8:00 which makes it very difficult for a working Folk and a lot of people won't go there because they can't get they're in a comfortable amount of time. I told her well you would have had one table of two tonight and she said well what do you want and will you take it to go and I said no we wanted to sit down and eat two sandwiches we weren't asking for hot food. She said I don't even have a waiter and I'm thinking well you could wait on us, so apparently they don't need the money and they're not worried about people who have had a hard day out in the cold rain. Bad business. I'm a retail business owner and I would not dream of closing early because we were not busy, that is a great way to be not busy. They are only open until 8:00 the kitchen closes at 7: 40 or so and only open on Saturdays till 2:00 and not open on Mondays. These people do not...
Read moreThe place is VERY clean, the staff was awesome. We went late on Friday and there was no wait. I ordered the burger (I forgot the exact one, but it came with onion rings on top) and my friend ordered the chicken sandwich.
The burger could have been better. The meat should be seasoned more (even with just salt and pepper!). My first reaction: this taste more like meatloaf and less like a burger. The chicken sandwich could have had more sauce. The buns for both are high quality, but would have been better if toasted.
We each had tots. I had the gravy and cheese ones -- absolutely awesome! My friend had the one with queso style cheese, she reported that it was good, but she's not a fan of tots.
We both ordered milkshakes to go. They were very milky and not very large. They could have been thicker or with more icecream. I feel like I didn't get my money's worth with the icecream.
All-in-all, it was easy to get to, had no wait, and was reasonably priced. I would recommend the location for a change of pace. The metro area really, really needs good diners and this was a step in the right direction. If you go, get/try the tots loaded...
