Koldy's Sports Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Rock Valley

Love love love Koldy's! My sister & I were in Iowa for a funeral and due to airport delays we arrived in Rock Valley late. We tucked Mom into bed at the hotel and went to find a cold drink and bite to eat. We Goggled restaurants, found Koldy's and called. The owner, Quentin Koldenhoven had no other customers so was closing. We begged. We were only a mile away. He said " C'mon in' We did and spent about an hour unwinding, laughing and talking. Old fashioned hospitality like that is rare & it made sense to us CA gals that Koldy was the owner's grandfathers nickname...grandson did...

Definitely pricey for a local joint, but they kind-of have the monopoly being the only true bar in town. Food was alright. You can't really pick the level you want your beef cooked to (if that says anything.) The server was nice and attentive. A very spacious place to hang out with your buds after work....

Sometimes the waitress session you then sees their friend shines you off. You have to literally ask someone to help suck as Q or his Tye to get help rather go to Waddys & get faster device with a much better attitude. Maybe that's why majority of Rock Valley prefer waddys...
