While visiting relatives in Rockford, upon a recommendation from my Daughter, I stopped into Lydia's for breakfast. I chose the Rockford Omelet with Swiss Cheese, Hash Browns and a side order of Homemade Corned Beef Hash. Topped it all off with a cup of hot Green Tea. Everything was absolutely delicious and prepared perfectly. My lovely server was Melissa. She was very polite, professional and just a Sweetheart. Great music playing in the background. I will definitely dine here again, before leaving town.....

Came back to Lydia's Cafe for a second time, after such a great breakfast a couple days ago... Another amazing Rockford Omelet & Hash Browns. Stacey was my wonderful server. She was very polite, professional and just a Sweetheart.... Once again, I loved the music playing in the background...

Came back to Lydia's for round #3. Another 5 Star amazing Breakfast Experience. The Guilford Omelet was prepared perfectly & absolutely delicious. Once again Stacey took great care of me. Looking forward to a few more visits before heading back down south....

LYDIA'S on Rural St. will not see me no more. I work nights, came here for breakfast when I got off with a coworker to grab a bite because it was close and open early. Ate and then paid for meal and talked and chatted, catching up. "The manager" I guess comes over and says "we need to leave they need the table because people are waiting ". I get it we totally understand. But when we were leaving out no one was waiting and there were other tables available INSIDE AND OUTSIDE. I still thought nothing of it. My friend went back in to get something "the manager" told the waitress "it was time for them to go. they been here over 3 hours." which was 100% a lie because I haven't even been off work that long. Terrible way to talk about a customer. RANT OVER. Y'all lucky y'all ain't got no corporate because I'd would be...

Went based on the review score and regretted it. Ordered blueberry pancakes and a side of corn beef hash, since that stood out in a review. The young waitress repeated the order, but later brought out a simple plain pancake after saying "I didn't hear blueberry." No apology, which is basic customer service. Since the order took so long to arrive I didn't send it back. The corn beef couldn't have been worse. Tiny strips of corn beef served tepid with minced potatoes on the same plate. Nothing binding these two ingredients together, not even salt. It was the saddest breakfast you can order and entirely overpriced. Also, wait staff, put your phones away. This is work, not high school, and the time you are on your phone texting is time the food could be getting to the table...

Lydia’s Café is the definition of quaint—cozy charm, friendly vibes, and a waitress so sweet I wanted to invite her to brunch with me. Service was on point—warm, welcoming, and full of small-town sparkle. I ordered the French toast with sausage patties and hash browns, and flavor-wise? Chef’s kiss. Everything was incredibly tasty—I’d order it again in a heartbeat. The only hiccup? The food arrived lukewarm at best. Not cold, but not hot either. It was more “polite room temperature” than “fresh off the griddle.” A little disappointing, considering how good it tasted. Would I go back? 100%. But next time, I’ll be hoping the food shows up dressed in something a little warmer.

Decided to visit Lydia's on a whim since the place I wanted to go for breakfast was full, and I'm so glad that fate brought me here because I think I found my new favorite place! The staff are very friendly and genuinely happy to have you here, it's a very comforting feeling. There are so many lovely choices when it comes to the menu, almost makes it hard to choose so you'll have to be back again to try something new. I had the sopes for breakfast and they were just perfect, good portions and outstanding flavors that will leave you satisfied. I can't wait to return again and try something new because no matter what it's going to be a delicious experience!
